It's not really an ammo type and it doesn't fix or protect anything so I wouldn't class it as an engineer tool and doesn't affect this ship itself in anyway so you could argue it doesn't work as a pilot tool.. however... A spyglass does nothing to your own ship and neither does the GWS.

Well that's my reasoning anyway

As you know harpoons continually pull... And as you can see a mine doesn't look that heavy compared to a ship...

You will pull that mine so fast to your face you'll panic more than a zebra in a lion enclosure

I like the special abilities apart from the pyra having NO downsides.. maybe reduced would be better? Also for the galleon how about a batten down the hatches special.. armour raises and RESISTANCE to certain damage types. Like piercing fire and impact?

One Mercury in decent hands is enough to shut down a Goldfish completely.  At this time, I can see no reason whatever to ever fly a Goldfish.

The best way to counter this is to not fix the main gun completely until it's in range to fire. Fix it most of the way and then wait. Once you're in range and they get their Merc shots off whack the gun. Hop on, and flay them. 

But a smart merc gunner will do essentially the same thing. They'll wait for the front gun to come back up before shooting it down again.

If they're waiting, then they're not shooting down your armor. Unless they have two mercs, it shouldn't be too difficult to get up close and personal.

But you're not doing any damage either since your gun is down... Eventually you'll have to bring it back up, and the merc will take it down, and they'll turn their short range side on you, and then you're screwed. It's a serious problem with the Goldfish right now.

And by the time you'll be so close you can outmanoeuvre its slow turn radius. It's a game of chess. It's the tactic I use and its not failed me yet.

Lower the damage of the piercing and possibly the shatter also?  Making it still a disabler but requires a few more shots? I have been on the other end of a merc and my only defence has been everyone focus on repairs (including gunner) while I kerosene and phoenix claw my was to him trying to dodge his shots. Once we get close they panic and flee. Leaving my ship with an easy target.

The way I close distance on a sniper in a galleon is by aiming the front at them and kerosening at them. That way the side guns are a bit more protected and I use a phoenix claw and reverse while turning to get those guns in position very quickly.

Yeah she's in good knick now I managed to get online for about 30 mins 2 days ago before she collapsed. Safe to say I'm not talking to my now ex-friend... Look to the skies pieman!! My squid's banshees will blot out the sun!

Well not exactly played since i was holding a spot and when i was giving it back someone took my original spot but still was good to watch those guys in action

Really, this guy deserves a medal.

I was having some trouble with my mic, so I restarted my game to fix it. When I joined back in my friends' game, all ready to spectate, Gambrill was there in my spot. As soon as he saw me in spectator, he hopped over too.

He selflessly gave up his spot on a high-leveled crewed ship to hold mine, and I'm sure they were all working well together and having a good time the match before.

Seriously, TRY finding a player HALF as considerate in ANY other game out there.

Gambrill, I salute you both with that little button, and with my heart.
