Q&A / Re: Incendiary Rounds
« on: February 16, 2015, 06:00:39 am »
Incendiary is my main ammo choice. More fire = more fun. adding fire to any damage you do causes engineer to repair out of sync due to the fact they may need to stay and put out a fire before repairing or vice versa as to leave it to repair another peice of equipment would cause the first peice to break.

Pyramidion
- Reduced hull health

Squid
- Increased hull health

Still disagree about this, but if you, Muse, decide that this is the best idea...

While I was hoping for a buff to the Squid overall, I definitely didn't expect a buff to the already high hull. Squid is surprizingly tanky with the 4-hit spanner rebuild on armor.

but if they increase the hull they have to increase the repair times remember? and i reckon that if you have increased hull health you can't just top it up to full hp with a wrench, meaning you may need someone with a rubber mallet and spanner ;) 5 hits to repair would be a good ofset for it :)

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Emergency/Distress Balloons- Pilot tool

Neat idea and all but to play the villain here...

You know this would turn the ship into a floating BBQ. Foes just flying around, spraying flame thrower with nothing to stop them. Maniacal laugh ensues. And with it just sitting there, all the parts would be 20 stacks so when the balloons wear off you have no ship to fly anymore. Just a hunk of metal falling to the ground.

That or makes it the perfect stationary target for a gat/mort to come by.

There is a major reason I rarely if ever use Drogue Chute. It is because of both of those reasons. Sure it buys time but under heavy bombardment you just make yourself a target and end up dying before you ever hit the ground. It also prevents the pilot from helping with rebuilds. Sometimes you want balloons to blow so you can use the downward movement to dodge fire. I often times use Chute or Hydro to intentionally blow a balloon as a tactical move to not only rebuild a weak balloon but to take advantage of the free fall to set up a better position and evade heavy fire.

In my experience Drogue bites me in the butt more often than not. This I'd never touch ever for the same reason. Its a gimmick that would only work in favorable conditions.

thing is you aaren't stationary. All directions are reduced but not rooted. And you can increase your height more than normal reading what he's put ^^

but some ships (junker) already ARE more resistant to armor penetrating weaponry.

As in the modifiers were actually changed or just because of its shape its easier to hit the balloon rather than the hull?

Right, so before this thread gets locked, I would like to chime in on "noobs"

Literally an hour ago I had a player with zero matches played and a player with 30 matches played crewing on my galleon. Neither of them had been on a galleon before and started out in the lobby as dual gunners and terrible loadouts. I asked one to go engi and he did. The other one I gave some ammo and a brief explanation of what those types in on a hwacha. Before long they were both bottom decking like pros. A little bit of instruction goes a long way, especially if you treat them like people instead of pests. Last night, I met two very new players who were super cool and took instructions well   and liked the music I was playing, so I asked if they wanted to join my clan, and they did. We now have two brand new friends that I wouldn't have made, had I taken the "rude, entitled 'vet' " approach.

In short, sure new players can be stupid and rude, but take a minute to explain stuff like a decent human being. I've had my share of uncontrollable noobs and it hasn't soiled me to the idea of helping new players along

Salute to you sir! An amazing example of a true player.

The cool down of 1 min is nice too and being restricted in all movement except vertically up is nice too. gives you a chance to gain some distance from the ground before they pop them or you rebuild your main baloon. If they rebuild the baloon before you lose all of your emergencies does it take some of the cooldown away as you have managed to protect some of your baloons? or a straight up cooldown no changes? :)

I saw an earlier post talking about that they are worried that the carronade would be less effective against certain ships more than others if we buffed the health.

But i gotta admit doesn't that sounds good in a way? You can't prepare for every situation in real life so why in GoIo. It might stop the whole gat + mortar combo if some ships were more resilient to Armour Penetrating weaponry, or others being more resilient to Explosive weaponry, Obviously this could be offset with a weakness too to certain types too.

General Discussion / Re: Lack of Artemis

When I used to play, I used a spire with a Mercury Cannon on the front, Double Artemis on the sides and a Typhon Flak Cannon. It was great at disabling and killing :)

And not to mention a full side Artemis junker with the front equipped with Artemis too can deal some serious pain. :)
