World / Real Ship Names

So, I had thought recently, if all the ships in the game currently are ships that are widespread throughout the world, the names that we call them surely cannot be their real names. the names we use are slang that have popped up over the years and taken hold due to the familiarity of seeing these ships in the skies and ports across the world.

take the junker or galleon for instance, they are ships specifically stated to be designed by certain groups, the arashi league and yesha empire respectively. Surely the prideful Arashi would not name a ship of their design a JUNKer, and why would the ethnically Chinese yeshan epire name a ship of their design using a word that has european roots. similar statements can be made of every ship in the game.

So, the question remains, when these ships were developed. when they were brand new technological innovations. what were the names their people gave them and what are they probably still known as in their homelands.

The current round of balance changes are definitely aimed at getting a handle on long range combat. No map is more prevalent in long range combat, or in the game in general really, than Battle on the Dunes. More often than not, you initially spawn in the open in full view of the enemy.

What I propose is moving the spawn points on dunes to either side of the juggernaut, either by shifting them over or rotating it so one team is near the ribs and one team is on the side of the juggernaut from the ribs.  with some initial cover a sniper has to move into position around the juggernaut and the enemy team can move to avoid them. A sniper build would then have to work with their team mate much more closely to support them or maneuver into position in a coordinated manner for double snipes.

This will also serve to shift combat away from the one side of the map it is on currently to combat focusing on the area around the juggernaut, which is the main focal point of the map visually anyway (and from a lore standpoint it would be the main target for salvaging resources).

Now this solution only affects dunes, but the same principle of looking at the environmental solutions to long range balance, rather than the messy route of changing gun and ammo properties in an integrated system, could probably be applied to other maps with alot of success.

So the other day i tried to name a ship "Pickaxe". And i couldn't because the word pickaxe is against the naming policy.........

turns out the flag results from an anglicized  Eastern European slang term, picka, being in the name. I mean, i get it, its an international game, and having someone able to name their ship "picka" might not be the best thing ever.  However censoring words that happen to contain the same pattern of characters as a "profane" word but mean completely different things is silly, really really silly.

Feedback and Suggestions / Donate from Steam Wallet ingame.

Since the in-game store uses your steam wallet, and with the advent of the trading cards and market systems, there is alot (ok well not a a lot but a bunch of small change :P) of extra cash lying around in peoples steam wallets. Why not have a donate button in the in-game store that allows you to specify an amount to donate to muse.

Really the whole reason for the suggestion is that i have 80 cents left over after selling my cards and vintage tf2 items and cant use it anywhere :P so it would be nice to just kick it over to muse :P especially since it was free money for me anyway.

Now we all know many people in the game wish they had stayed at the title "Aeronaut" and this lead to the discussion of "more badass titles" for higher levels.

Well, good people, we finally have the solution.

add an option in role tab to select your title

yes. i know. its brilliant. :P











also yes, if this is in the pipe/has already been posted on the forums, i now look like a total noobcake :P

Website and Forum Issues / Gameplay Section of Main Site

so,

being bored, i went through the game play section of the main site. aaaaannnnnnnnd you guys might wanna go over that and update it :P i mean i know there is a manual in game now. but that section of the website is really really out of date and missing info. like spires for instance, no mention of spires in the ship section :P
