Guns of Icarus Online is $5

Guns of Icarus is $1.24

Now is a great time to grab copies of both and get the special hat, maybe hand a few extra copies out to your friends!  I picked up a copy of the first one since I have not yet gotten a chance to try it.

So....hello~  For anyone that bumps into me in-game, "Vef" or "Veffi" is fine since my full name will probably take too long to type while getting shot at.

I've been "eyeballing" Guns of Icarus Online since a little after it's release on Steam.  The whole game reminded me highly of an online, co-op Skies of Arcadia.  I realise it will still be a while before adventure mode is released, but I expect I'll enjoy it a lot if it turns out anything like Freelancer's multiplayer mode (travel/trade routes).  I'll probably grab the original game once it's on sale too.

I'm a big fan of games where a small team has to work together to accomplish something - learning a job and figuring out how to do it well is an amazing experience.....Monster Hunter Tri's Jehn Mohran Gunboat comes to mind.

I tried joining a few matches last night, but the ship(s) I was on would quickly explode before I could really move around/do anything to stop it from happening (was Engineer trying to repair everything).  I have a general idea from Practise and tutorial videos of how things work & are repaired, but it seriously felt like the entire thing was out of my control & our ship never lasted more than a few seconds anyways (frankly, I blame the Pilot).

I noticed some other people talking about a teaching session on Monday night that I'll probably try to show up for, but I'm experiencing a bit of culture shock from the fact that it seems so intimidating to just randomly drop into someone else's room (spectator mode doesn't seem to let me zoom on individual players & isn't helping me either).  It seems like there are enough people playing now that know how to win fast that I'm just coming in too late to the party & I'm going to be eating a lot of dirt.
