A Very Ducky Christmas, Week 2
with The Rob and Dan Show

Hey there, sky pirates!

Last week's "December Drill" was enjoyable enough that those of us here at the Ducks thought we would put on a second week of Saturday scrimmages. The format and intent of this Saturday's event (heretofore referred to as "A Very Ducky Christmas", its prior name being somewhat overburdened with voiced alveolar stops) is much the same as last week: a series of informal Best of 3 scrimmages design to stimulate interest in competitive play and prepare the GoI:O community for the start of Cogs Season 3 at the beginning of the new year. There are quite a few new teams out there, so we'd really like for you to get your engines warmed up in the hopes that you'll participate in some of the larger competitive events that we have coming down the pipe.

Here are the details:

-Saturday, December 14 at 1600 EST (2100 UTC, a.k.a. Cogs time)
-Best of three matches, with no time limit
-Random maps and spawns released prior to the event
-No brackets, no champion, and no prizes outside of enjoying your matches
-Livestreamed by The Rob and Dan Show

As with last week, the emphasis is on fast, fun, informal matches designed to bring the community together during what is typically a very busy time outside of the game for most players. You won't have to clear your whole Saturday afternoon; instead, each of the Bo3 matchups will be blocked in to a 50-minute slot, with each game being cast by Letonator of The Rob and Dan Show, and other various and sundry Duck color commentators.

As before, team matchups will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please contact me on Steam or Skype (frogger4600 for both) and I will update our signup document accordingly:

Game 1
4:00 a
4:00 b

Game 2
4:50 a
4:50 b

Game 3
5:40 a
5:40 b

Game 4
6:30 a
6:30 b

As before, this can be expanded if there is enough interest.

Community Events / Use of 1.3.3 Hotfix Chemspray During Cogs
« on: November 09, 2013, 12:07:31 am »
I have corresponded with a few Muse guys regarding the new characteristics of 1.3.3 Hotfix chemspray (no cooldown incurred unless there is one more stack of fire on the target component). According to Bubbles, this is a bug and not functioning as intended.

Therefore, I want to ask the Cogs organizers if it is acceptable to use chemspray during the event, until it is fixed by Muse.
