Guides / Thal's weapons chart
« on: April 16, 2017, 02:19:41 pm »
Hey guys. I did some time ago a weapons chart for myself and some friends. I thought nobody would read it, but then came across Zanc's sheet and found out that people actually value them. DOn't hesitate to check out his sheet as well. it's very accurate.

Anyway, I started updating my chart just recently to the latest updates (many numbers might still be wrong) and haven't included Alliance weapons just yet. I also ported my chart to a google sheet, so everybody should be able to read it with a browser alone (the original file was libre office). I hope you find it useful, I posted it on my blog.

Q&A / Unlock Arashi Stormbreaker?
« on: April 04, 2017, 09:56:04 am »
Before anythink else: I have read the latest release notes here on the forum and tried to find my way within the game to no avail.

I really like the Arashi faction and their ship. I understand that having a 5th faction right now may only complicate things on the world map, but, where/how can I get a Stormbreaker? I'd love to fly that ship again.

Q&A / Do tar-clouds (and incidentally, gas mortar rounds) stack?
« on: April 03, 2017, 04:40:06 am »
I love using tar clouds aggressively. They are hard to place in an effective way, but if you do, they are very rewarding.

But do they stack on top another? I mean. If I place a tar cloud right on top of an enemy, and after say 10 seconds, deploy a new tar cloud in such a way that it overlaps with the previous one, does the enemy ship suffer damage from both clouds simultaneously?

The same question goes for the new gas mortar in Alliance. Here it is much easier to deploy two gas clouds with an almost perfect overlap. Am I wasting rounds or does their damage stack?

Thank you

I know that the Flamethrower is a partcule gun and therefore has an AoE radius of 0m. But does that mean that it has no AoE damage component at all? I can think of two scenarios, but don't know which does actually apply when using incendiary rounds (which add 0.2 fire stack probability to direct hits and AoE hits):

1. A fire particle hits a component. It applies its direct damange and direct hit fire probability (0.22 + 0.2)
2. A fire particle hits a component. It applies its direct damage and direct hit fire probability (0.22+0.2) plus AoE fire probability (0 + 0.2).

Thank you
