Website and Forum Issues / Allow flash embeds!
« on: November 01, 2014, 10:23:24 pm »
It seems that the ability to embed flash objects is disabled. Any embed, be it from YouTube, SoundCloud, our other sites that offer flash embeds appears to show up in the editor, and is fully functional, but disappears when you try to post it. Enabling the flash embeds would allow for more ease to share things, such as videos and music through the forum. Simple machines forum has flash embed support also.

The Lounge / What are your internet speeds?
« on: September 05, 2014, 11:34:55 pm »
So, I was wondering, what everyone's internet speeds are, and who their internet service provider is.
(you can test your speeds here.)

So, to begin here are my speeds.

Comcast. Comcast Business.
My family pays $40/month for 12.5 down, 1.5 up (should be $60, but we got a discount) We used to get about 40 down, 6 up, but then our neighbors started using more, or Comcast started throttling its business customers.
Welcome to Hotel Comcastifornia, or Standard Internet Corporation.
(Even my cellphone when tethered to my computer, using 4G is faster than Comcast)

Feedback and Suggestions / A suggestion Regarding Leave Counts
« on: April 17, 2014, 03:35:59 pm »
I was thinking, to help people with horrible internet who are getting leave counts due to their connection, or who crash frequently, to stop getting leave counts, due to these by making it so that if they returned to the same match within the "Resume Match" time period, the leave count counter would not go up.

The Lounge / The Blood Moon is Coming.
« on: April 14, 2014, 01:40:27 pm »
Tonight, visible to most in the North of the Americas, the Blood Moon shall Rise.

Visible in the East, Beginning at one after midnight, and at its Height in the Third hour of the morning, the peak lasting for an hour and a half.
A total Blood moon shall appear, preceded by gradual dimming. The First out of Four of the First of Eight Tetrads this Centum, with the other three taking place later in this Annum and in Spring and Autumn of the next.

The Pit / Oculus VR's Acquisition by Facebook.
« on: March 25, 2014, 07:16:50 pm »
So, it appears Sony's likely getting the VR gaming market on a silver platter with their Project Morpheus, as Facebook acquired Oculus VR for $2 billion. Also, it looks like the plans for a Oculus Rift version of Minecraft are canceled. So, what're you guys' opinions?

So, What are the strangest, weirdest, or most random dreams you have ever had?

To start this off, Last night, I had a Guns of Icarus related dream, involving Zuka... It was quite... fascinating.

Hull buffing seems to take a very long time, no matter whether the armor in question is a Galleon's or a Squid's. The time is the same, no matter the Armor health, whereas the hull armor rebuild speed takes into account the health of the armor. Therefore, I would like to field the following question: Why does the buff hammer not take into account the amount of hull armor health when it is being buffed, so as to make it behave similarly to the Hull armor rebuild mechanic, which takes into account the hull armor health?

If it took into account the amount of hull armor health, as a hypothetical example, would take 5 hits with a buff hammer to buff due to the
≈ 250 hull armor (rounded up from 230), while the goldfish would take 8 hits or so, due to its 400 hull armor. Of course, at the highest end of the scale, the galleon would take 16 hits with the hammer, due to its 800 hull armor. (This hypothetical rule would be one hit per ≈ 50 hull armor hp) Of course, these hypothetical numbers could be changed. This would make the buffing system slightly easier to understand, and also make the whole buffing system more dynamic, and could [increase] the viability of buff engineers on some low-hull armor ships (I'm looking at you, mr. squid.) For example, in the heat of combat, it could make the squid seem less squishy, as when the hull drops, a buffgineer could more quickly buff the hull, due to the dynamic system of buffing, which would make buff hammers more welcome in certain situations, i.e. when running a squid against two or so metamidions.

I would like opinions/comment/intense discussion/harsh critiques on this proposed mechanic.

The Pit / The Mrau (Or cat) thread
« on: February 19, 2014, 10:00:22 pm »
Cats usually are cute, but some are downright Mrau inducing. Post cat pictures and mrau and discuss.

Mrau!

Oh my...

The Lounge / Surprise speculation
« on: February 14, 2014, 01:17:16 am »
We all have our ideas about what the surprise at the end of the countdown timer could be. My speculation is the implementation of a fire based heavy weapon. What are you guys's ideas?

The Pit / Encyclopaedia Stereotypica
« on: January 19, 2014, 05:32:42 am »
Here is where we dispose and catalogue our stereotypes. It is a horrid place, and as such, I thought Comic Sans MS Pink conveys the message of horror the most effectively.
(the more offensive the better to dispose of.)
Let's Begin. He who Squid rams a Galleon usually has a death wish or is trying to total it Kamikaze style, or has no piloting talent. Usually fulfills the american stereotype of an asian driver.

Feedback and Suggestions / Reload-Speed Enhancing Ammunition Type
« on: January 02, 2014, 02:33:26 am »
It strikes me as though there are many ammo types covering most parts of the spectrum, there is an absence of ammunition (Or even e engineering tools) that enhance the reload speed. Thus, I propose a Reload-Speed enhancing ammunition type, allowing for a faster reload speed and possibly clip size, with a sacrifice to damage, and/or spread.

Negative modifiers
Proposed Damage Modifier: 75% damage
Proposed Spread Increase: +25% to 40% Spread

Positive Modifiers
Proposed Reload-Speed Enhancement: -25% to -50% Reload time
Proposed Clip Size enhancement: +10% Clip Size Increase

Discuss.

Feedback and Suggestions / Gun Ammunition Idea: Thermite.
« on: December 03, 2013, 03:52:14 am »
Think Incendiary rounds, but with a smaller clip size (say -50 to -75%), But with extra damage and the ability to set down 2 stacks of fire and a DoT effect that damages the permahull after piercing the armor or being left unextinguished for x amount of time.
