Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Make Gunners A Relevant Choice
« on: March 01, 2016, 10:35:11 am »
Just my 2 cents:
- I agree that gunners are underused, and I would like to see changes that make them more viable.
- The 3-engineer-setup somewhat destroys the athmosphere for me. The (one) "engineer" actually should feel like they fullfil a specific role in the team.
- Likewise, I think gunners should adhere to their identity, i.e. shoot guns. If you give them a repair buff, gameplay-wise you would just have two different kinds of engineers.
- Giving gunners an increased shooting angle is a nice buff, but having this ability only temporary through stamina always felt weird. Also, gunner stamina is too complicated, as it has too many uses: faster reloading / more dps / wider angle.

My suggestion would be:
Make the increase in shooting angle permanent. This would simplify the use of gunner stamina and give gunners a reasonble boost to be used over engineers.

I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your effort in organizing an event like this. Sadly, this week my team wasn't available, but I'm constantly trying to get them to join :)
There is certainly interest in a casual / 'less competitive' event. I think one reason we have few sign-ups is that most players still see themselves as beginners (we certainly are!), and don't dare to join. Maybe it would help if you called this thing explicitly a "Beginner Tournament", "Novice training brawl", or whatever is suited.

Hi, will anything take place? (as there are no sign-ups yet)
I would like to join, but I'm hesitant to do a formal sign-up as I can't tell 100% if my team will be available at the time.
Without any guarantees:
  • Team Name: [RAYS] / Raytracers
  • Point of Contact: "Chase." and "Chase"
  • Logo (if you have one): attached
  • If your team is a 4 or 8 player team: 4
  • If your team is requesting a certain team to be paired with (maybe you Cronus League Partner for the week): Nope
  • If your team is participating in the SCS, so need to have all your matches done before SCS starts.: Nope

So how does the 'signup' work? Me and the rest of a 4-person crew would certainly drop by. We go by [RAYS] / Raytracers.

From the wiki I learned that destroyed components transfer any damage they take to the armor/hull: http://gunsoficarusonline.wikia.com/wiki/Hit_Mechanics
Quote
Hitting a destroyed component will transfer damage and fire ignition chance (if present), to the "hull component" (first armor, then hull). Overflow damage on a single hit does not transfer. The damage transfer from a destroyed component is to the "hull component", a destroyed component therefore increases the hit-box of the "hull component".
I'm not 100% certain here, but I assume that the damage type factor is applied after transfer, meaning the final damage will be computed is if the hull was hit.
For example, hitting a destroyed gun with Shatter damage applies the Shatter->Armor factor of 0.2, rather than the Shatter->Component factor of 2 to the final Hull damage. Is that assumption correct?

The Docks / Four-person crew wants to form a clan
« on: January 18, 2016, 09:32:52 am »
Hi everyone,
We are a full 4-person crew from Germany, who will hopefully play a little bit on a regular basis (Saturdays or Sundays maybe).
Are there any others out there, preferably fully-manned crews, who'd like to join us in forming a clan?
We are beginners and rather casual players, but are still ambitious to improve to a competitive level. A long-time goal would be to participate in the Sunday Community Skirmish.

German-speaking players would be nice, but (sufficiently fluent) English speakers would work just as well.

Let me know if there's any interest!
