Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Problems with matchmaking
« on: October 30, 2014, 07:13:26 pm »
Then we need to figure out how to get the skill deviation in matches lower, because it's not fun for ANYBODY when more experienced players are forced to spend every match training newer players, and the newer players are getting yelled at, and everyone is floundering about equally poorly so therefore the match is technically "balanced"....

That. So much. This game isn't CoD or League where you can try to save your score or fuck around if your team is full clueless. Luckily nothing is keeping us from stacking, so there's that, but the game has quickly become a game of hunt the monkeys. I don't think none of the veterans wants to be thrown into a new team and train them. Hell, I don't think even the CAs want to do that. And even if you try your best to be nice and patient, you'll usually be thanked with a STFU for your effort. So it's play the game the clueless way, stack against people who stand no chance, or don't play at all.

As CharlieDontSurf said on the Steam forums, pleeeeease consider throwing in the server browser with the matchmaking.

We are poor little lambs, who have lost our way...Ba...Ba...Baaaaaa

We're little boys who proud ourselves in being bullies! Then again, can't really bully anyone, can we now?

Also, looking at it the wrong way. Some sheep don't want a way, or a herd. That's the idea.

The Docks / The Black Sheep looks for members!
« on: August 03, 2014, 12:19:38 pm »
Welcome to the post! If you're here, I can assume you're interested in clans with cool names.

The Black Sheep is more of a team with a cool name! The idea is a team that anyone can join to scrim with the serious clans (And optionally actually stand a chance against them!) and that aims for effectiveness and proficiency at the game. Take it to the highest level we're able to, if you may. (Also, totally not a ripoff of The Black Cloaks. My idea predated them for a couple months, but I never got around to actually doing it  :P)

I'll gladly take in anyone interested in playing the game well or just learning something new. Unconventional strategies are not ruled out, either.

If it's a tournament and it's even half serious, there are gonna be people who want to win it. And if it's not half serious, then it's not really a tournament.  :-\

I can see you mean well with it and wish you the best of luck, though. Hope it ends up as something fun that people will remember fondly and not a dark hour for the community.  :D

Uhm, while it does seem like a lot of fun, the whole thing just should be unranked in order to keep rage levels in check. It's very chaotic, it has random matchmaking on a competitive environment, it has random events giving extra points...

We all know competitive play can be demanding, time consuming and stressful. Having prizes is a neat idea and I'm all for it, but the lower the stakes are in this particular tournament, the better, in my opinion. So it won't become rage fuel. And the odds of people calling foul play on this are out the roof, man.

Flamers appear to lag the game again! Though I'm sure you're probably already aware and on it.

I don't think even the greenest thing in the game is as shiny neon green as Clan clan members are...  :P

Well hey, if Muse has the time to include it and feels like it, I don't see why not. Other than that, it's nothing you can't get by saying "Hello, I have music on, so if you want something, text me."

Most of the time I actually have music on myself, and I still win about 80% of my games. It's a matter of knowing what you're doing. About the afk, same thing, you can usually guess when someone has decided to alt tab to look at lolcats and is just not here, or is faking to be alt tabbed looking at lolcats so he can bring whatever he feels like rather than what he needs.

TL;DR: They wouldn't do that, because it's a little redundant when you can just say that you have music on, and people can guess that you're AFK.

Oh man, this is an awesome idea. I hope it comes true some day!

Feedback and Suggestions / Matchmaking question
« on: July 08, 2014, 07:28:25 am »
Will it come with a ranked ladder? Since most matchmaking systems already use a hidden rating, you could just make a queue you can join where it's, you know, not hidden.

Pros:
-Hardcore community would have a place to go train in all seriousness.
-Less stacks and stomping of the unexperienced.
-Less stacks against smaller yet big clans.
-This is a big one that would really help out: More player retention due to a feeling of progression that the game otherwise lacks. (And it's perfect that way, but you know, niche.)

Cons:
-Would need more mods and more of them to be readily available.
-All sorts of new moral dilemmas.
-Community might become a little worse. (Kinda like novice games already are, but extended.)

Q&A / Re: Match Making (Friends and Blocked)

It can't rule out blocked people. It could be abused in a handful of creative ways.
