tl;dr: its not my fault if people are leaving and roflstomping randoms gives newbies a great first-impression that would never drive anyone away for good

The Lounge / Re: What did you name your ship and why?

Squid: Saint Rocket - Squid is technically are a form of industrial-age rocketry, and the ship was granted sainthood on account of its unwavering devotion to God's will.
Pyramidion: Tremble For I was Once Missile Sling - As the name implies, the Pyramidion itself embodied the essence of the Missile Sling within the very timbers of its hull.
Junker: Maid of Ashare - A metaphor as the ship hails from the township of Ashare and fights on behalf of its people.
Galleon: Boatmurdered - Because it's the only ship that looks more like a boat than anything else. Also I love dwarf fortress.
Spire: Tower of Pancakes - The hull of the ship is actually made of a heavily oxidized bronze-pancake alloy that allows the hull to naturally stack itself to great heights.
Mobula: Undead Spaghetti - The antithesis to God, creation, and life itself is the embodiment of the universal truths composing pasta and undeath.

I'll personally make time to train some of the recruits and my chief engineer Spacesebi will be happy to demonstrate and teach the engineer recruits.

The biggest problem is people insisting that they stay on the same team. I have no idea how it's supposed to make the game more fun when a coordinated team of 8 people mercilessly roflstomps randoms until they alt-f4. The easiest and most fun solution is to simply have one of the crews change teams. 1 coordinated crew + 1 random crew is usually pretty equal, and it's a really quick way to improve your skill at the game when you lose to someone you play with on a regular basis. Randoms get carried, pros get a challenge, and everyone wins.

I just really hate this stacking bullshit where you hop into a game and 8 people who only play to win refuse to risk losing a game. It makes it where I can't casually play the game in random groups and expect to have fun, and it sucks.

Alright I'd be happy to take any instruction you guys can offer. Right now I'm running a Spyglass, a Tar Barrel, and a Drogue Chute, but I'm thinking of dropping Tar Barrel for Chute Vent but I can't decide. I'm flying a 4-hwacha Galleon if that helps.

Lol, times have changed so much. Tar Barrel and Drogue Chute are extremely useful, and it's not uncommon to see quadruple-hwacha Galleons in competitive matches. Oh yeah, and the heavy flak is almost worthless now.

But Hwacha can't be meta. It's a hwacha.

Right?

Then what happened to Spacebi, Moonwalker and Austronaut?

Spacesebi goes to school in Germany so the amount of homework he gets increases exponentially every week, so we haven't been able to find a time where we can both play.

Astronaut quit because he felt the howitzer was ridiculous enough that it ruined the entire game, and so he didn't want to play that anymore.

Moonwalker quit because they made Astronaut a CA instead of him. Which is kinda funny since Astronaut had already quit for like 3 months when he was awarded CA while Moonwalker was the most active of all of us.

The Flying Dutchmen are always willing fore new and ambitious players such as yourself. We base ourselves around teaching people and welcoming in new players, so feel free to hit me up with a Message.

I'm new to this game but I have high hopes of being a really good pilot some day. If you think your clan can give me a shot, hit me up.
