Good game last night against Overwatch. I apologise on behalf of Haven for the delay, initially we hoped to enter earlier in the day but as the tourney time approached we didn't think we had enough members so I told our guys that we'd sit it out and hopefully enter next week. Brick then popped up on Steam about 20 mins before the start time and asked if we were ready to go so we had to rush around and get as many people as we could at short notice. We ended up a ragtag bunch with many of our guys who hadn't played together before but we fought well.

Grats on the win Overwatch, a great team and I look forward to playing against you guys again in the future :)

Haven/BFS will be participating in future rumbles for sure, unfortunately we just couldn't get the people together for today either. Look for us next week hopefully :)

I don't see how this is a problem personally. The Spire tournament is something different and I'm looking forward to flying in it but is there some sort of unwritten rule that states that two tournaments cannot run simultaneously or on the same day? Dangerously close to the Spire tournament? Come on, there is like 3 and a half hours difference between the start times, you really think the Spire tourney is going to run 3 and a half hours?

I find myself increasingly perplexed (and more than a little exasperated) with some of the teams within the GoI community, on the one hand I've seen people from some of the bigger teams out there complaining about the same old tournaments month after month yet nobody seems to want to take the initiative and organise something themselves, then I see those same people complaining about a lack of newcomer teams entering tourneys and it being the same faces season after season and yet those same teams want to snap up every newcomer to the game when they already have several sub-teams.

Anyhow, /rant. I'm in the process of talking to Haven's guys to see if we can field a team in this as well as fly alongside BFS in the Spire tourney so we'll see. Either way, best of luck Urz and I'll be watching the game regardless :D

Just a heads up that 4pm EST actually converts to 10pm BST. There is 6 hours between British Summer Time (which is GMT+1) and Eastern Standard Time. You can use this site to check current TZ's around the world. Many locations who are on EST during the winter months are currently on EDT (Eastern Daylight Time which is EST+1) which is consequently 5 hours behind BST. So yeah, 4pm EST is 10pm BST or 9pm GMT, 4pm EDT would be 9pm BST or 8pm GMT.

A bit confusing I know XD Damn daylight savings haha.

Check out Haven buddy, you can check out our recruitment thread here or visit our website directly by clicking here.

End of the season is still a ways off. I'm sure you guys could get a roster together and get into the newcomers. Hopefully there won't be some terrible patch + server overload like we had to deal with. Good to have you folks aboard!

Thanks bud, fingers crossed.

Haven is proud to announce that we have formed a coalition with the fantastic Bully Boys/Black Flight Squadron. After unfortunately having to pull out of the Cogs due to a lack of numbers we entered talks with Brick Hardcastle who laid out a very attractive proposition whereby Haven's members would sub in for BFS during this season of the Cogs if needed whilst retaining our independence and continuing to recruit for our own roster. We'll also be entering some tournaments alongside BFS in the future so stay tuned for news on that front!

This arrangement is beneficial to both teams as it provides BFS with an extra reserves roster to call upon when needed, as well as an extra ship or two to enter 3v3's with in the future. Obviously it's great for our guys as it gives them a better opportunity to get in to some matches in the future, we'll also be running some joint practice sessions and events as well.

Haven is still recruiting independently, we're still looking to get our 2v2 roster off the ground so that perhaps we'll be able to enter the Cogs next season, so far we're doing okay with around 8 active GoI players but we still need more so for the time being I'm keeping all role recruitment set to high. We accept all skill levels so whether you're a grizzled vet looking for a change of pace or a newbie looking to learn the game and have a laugh with some great people then come and get involved!

Woop! #Excited :D

Due to a few unfortunate instances of R/L catching up with our members we had to pull out of the Cogs this week but we do plan to return. We're pushing recruitment harder than ever now as we have a solid foundation to build on in GoI but just need a few more members.

Engineer: High
Gunner: High

Okay thanks Swallow. Looking forward to our first match though I don't think the Raft will have much to worry about :P Still, if we're going down we're going down swinging ^^

Thanks Morbie,

Can I ask what happens if nobody else signs up for slot 4b? Will we (Haven) face off against the Raft in our first match? Kind of a daunting prospect :P Either way, looking forward to it!

The Lounge / FTL in GMOD!? Sign me up!

So, I saw this and instantly thought of the GoI community. I mean sure, you may be thinking FTL is a single player indie space game, where are the comparisons to GoI? Seriously though, if anyone has even a passing interest in FTL or team based crew games (and if you're here you must be interested in the latter at least right!?) then read that article. A multiplayer FTL inspired MP game where you take on the role of a crew member whilst trying to keep the ship alive? Sign me up!

Just thought I'd share :)
