Cats are evil so...no.

You are evil, you heartless bastard.

Oh eat me you German bungalow.
Those damn fur balls have something rotten in their hearts. Hmmph. =^=

Y know...I think I'd enjoy a steampowered child running about my ship...

I agree Schwalbe here, cats are the best and you're wrong. Children on the other hand are the source of all bad things in the world so why would you want a steampunk one on your ship. Thanks for your attention, carry on with the discussion

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Skirmish Content Kickstarter ?

At the end of the day I don't really care how it's done or what it takes, be it kickstarter or goat sacrifices under the full moon, I want new content.

HamsterIV makes a very solid point but it's also just one more depressing bit of fact in the muse bucket of depressing facts... Alliance probably won't be anything like it's advertised but that said I think if they do manage to get Alliance out at all and it's not absolutely terrible doing another kickstarter later could still be an idea right?

Considering how much time I've put into guns and continue to do I'd probably pay the price of an AAA title game towards getting new content provided I felt confident we'd actually receive it. Hell I even bought the "Soundtrack DLC" even though I don't care and can't tell the difference.

I'd like to see (more or less in order of priority):
-new maps
-new game modes (VIP)
-new ships
-in-game interface for tournaments
-more community/interface content (like the addition of clan levels, that was great but more of that kind of thing. Something to facilitate clan colours, clan decals and individuality etc. Clan trophy displays like player badges? Clans are the lifeblood of guns so you know)
-aesthetic content (Pleease let us dye hair in any colour for instance. make broken guns look broken, and add costumes & ship themes instead of a new pair of goggles each month)

There. I give you my deepest desires and now I'll go back to my corner and cry about how we'll never have any of that.

A mine event is definitely something we need, there aren't nearly enough sacrifices made in the name of Phobos these days and I like how this would let us get more out of that time when competitive teams get online and together for the SCS. It also seems like a chance for those teams to socialize in a way you know?

Though I fear the potential of frustration arising when people try to claim victory or somebody loses count while concentrating on the game so it would probably benefit from a ref if somebody was there to do it.. Otherwise since it's really not about the score or winning might as well get rid of point counting and perhaps replace it with a match timer? Then again maybe it wouldn't be an issue in practice, we should try it.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Flare Fun:
« on: July 24, 2015, 12:08:03 am »
Sounds fascinating, absolutely fascinating. I like some colour variation but perhaps having that many is a bit too much. Still as noted with the alternative to lochnagar (giving a shorter more intense burst) there could be different physical effects other than the standard hovering flare as well - there could be flares that slowly descend eventually illuminating lower parts of the map or flares that leave a smoke trail behind them acting as a bit of player created soft cover.

Loch could infact just be a bit of randomly coloured fireworks (acting as a brief period of very extensive illumination) and charged could be that shorter but more intense standard flare.

It has a lot of potential.

I do feel pretty nostalgic for the old flares, it was quite fun at times to muse over them. That and the green was spectacular... Not that I know any of the techy bits and how they work but perhaps there's a compromise between frame rate, visual appeal and gameplay to be had by putting some more work in it?

Considering the recent SCS signup trends I also think round robin sounds like an interesting idea but as for the new map... Even though the developers should have addressed all major issues by now it still seems more reasonable to allow for some post-release feedback because clearly there's always a chance for bugs to make it through. Indeed why not just eliminate the possibility of "Something happening" until we're certain. Whilst it's true that we like new maps, the new map is being played in pub matches very often already (for the overall "getting play" factor) and it just doesn't seem like a big effort to give it some more time before bringing it to competitive.
