The Docks / New Gunner in Search of a Vessel

Hello. Title pretty much says it all.
About me: I recently started playing thanks to the Steam sale, though I've followed the game via Youtube videos for quite a while now (since closed/early alpha). I've completed the tutorials, played a few games, and found that my preferred role is Gunner with a secondary role of Engineer. I'm in the Novice bracket, so I've still got a lot to learn and I'd like to do that as part of a ship.
Looking for: I'm mostly just looking for a friendly, mature crew to take to the skies with on a continued basis, though if the only way to achieve this is to join a clan I'd might be willing to do that as well (just don't want any drama).
Availability: most weeknights after 9pm EST/6pm PST, Sunday afternoon to evening, varying times Wednesday & Thursday
