The Docks / Interrobang -An Asia/Australia Casual Clan
« on: December 28, 2013, 05:25:27 am »
Heya guys!

Since there isn't one particularly dedicated to this region yet, we've decided to open a clan to represent the relatively smaller GoI communities from these parts.

What are we?
Interrobang [ITB] is, at the moment, a casual GoI clan meant to be a haven for those within the Asia/Australia region who are looking for a clan, but have yet to find one due to whatever reason it might be, be it timezones or ping.

This clan is open to just about anyone (including those outside the region, if you so wish) regardless of skill, but our current player base is located within Asia, GMT+8 timing. At the moment, due to a lack of players, we're currently not set up for competitive play, but we do have intentions of forming up a team if we can garner a proper roster. We also play a handful of other games ranging from Team Fortress 2 to Starbound, so feel free to join us up even if you don't think that you'll be in with us for GoI all the way!

Headphones and Mumble is a must because we more or less operate from there, server details will be given upon joining. If you're interested, feel free to hit me up over Steam at http://steamcommunity.com/id/ryaneyj/. Technical assistance will be rendered by our fellow clan members if you are unfamiliar with Mumble. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me over Steam by the link provided above, where I'd be more than happy to help you.

Cheers!

Didn't check this thread for a while, and then suddenly there's a buttload of people in here @.=.@

After much deliberation, my friends and I have considered forming up our own clan to host a dedicated Asia/Australia team. We're still sorta in the works of fleshing it out, but we have plans to host a mumble server, play other games and all that whatnot. If anyone's interested, hit me up on Steam @ ryaneyj/Gadzooks and I'd be more than happy to fill you in on what we're trying to do so far!

@Sammy

We'd generally consider ourselves Asia players, but since the community is more or less non-existent here, Australia is the next closest place for us to head over to where the ping wouldn't screw us over (would be estimated to be around 90-ish as and when Muse gets some dedicated servers in Australia), so we generally try to hang around there when we play because we get a little more traffic in our lobby that way.

@ramjam

Ah, alright, thank you for the info! :) I didn't realise that it worked that way, I'll have to check up with my guys on whether we're okay with the server locations and timing before we apply to a team, then.

The Docks / Asia/Australia Players Looking for Competitive Team
« on: November 20, 2013, 01:41:18 am »
My friends and I have been playing this game for a while now and we're eager to enter the GoI competitive scene, but we have no idea what it's like over there, nor do we have enough players as of now to form a team for ourselves. We're wondering if there are any competitive teams recruiting within the Asia/Australia areas, and if so, we'd like to join you guys as a crew.

Our current roster is a small group of 5 players, 3 of us have prior experience in competitive gaming in a few seasons of Team Fortress 2's UGC league and we can generally work under pressure. We also make heavy use of Mumble for in-game communications, and we operate from our own Mumble server. We are currently based in Singapore, timezone at +8GMT.

If there are any other questions with regard to any qualifications that I might not have mentioned, do ask! I am  contactable over Steam at ryaneyj, or through pms.

Feedback and Suggestions / Request: Coloured Reticules
« on: November 07, 2013, 09:47:26 am »
Alright, so I've been playing this game for quite a fair bit, and one thing that I feel that I must feedback about this game is the colour of the reticules in-game. As a frequent gunner, one thing that's really troubled me is the white colour of the reticules.

While it's generally suitable for most situations, there are quite a handful where it isn't as well. Most particularly in clouds, anyone who guns frequently would agree with me that it's somewhat hard to see the reticule in clouds, moreso when someone's popped a flare in there and the target is very close to the center of the source of the flare. This problem isn't just limited to brighter maps such as Dunes or Fjords, but applies to night-time maps like Paritan Rumble and Labyrinth as well.

I understand that the clouds were put in place with the intention of obstructing vision and providing cover, but I'm not sure if it was intentional of the devs to make it more difficult to aim for a target if you can see them through the clouds.

If it wasn't, my proposal is that there should be a option in the menu to change/customise the colour of crosshairs, maybe through the use of RBG sliders to adjust the colours to fit user preferences as well.

Thoughts?

Haha, t'was be a well-earned bounty! My friends and I had a lot of fun blowing up your ships with egregious amounts of hwa cha spam.

On a more serious note, wouldn't mind playing with you again, it was a lot of fun :D

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: The Bounty Board

Perhaps maybe spread the bounty heads into tiers? So i.e. there could be 10 bounty heads for lvl 1-3, 10 for 4-6, and so on. I don't think limiting the bounty board to the most active players is gonna be too fair, because then the more casual, active players aren't gonna get any chance to sign up.

Actually, we sort of are active. Whether you're in the right time zone to catch us online is a different story ;)

Heyo, if you're looking for a Galleon pilot, do hit me up in a
PM or such! My friends and I run galleons pretty often to a pretty fair degree of success, and we'd be more than willing to show you our version of it. Do be warned though, we hail from Singapore, so ping might be really iffy for you if you're in US/Europe.
