Oh hull and balloon damage: Dang, I will have to remember that now.

On cloud color, quite often, on dunes, the dust cloud will be hidden inside of the normal white clouds, effectively making them indistinguishable until I am inside, taking damage.

It varies from game to game. Usually I just admit the other team was simply better than I. But common issues are a crew that wasn't following my instructions, a team mate who was derping around, or I am just having a poor night.

CakeWatch will be there.

Dust clouds will not damage Balloon or Hull/Armor. They will damage everything else though.

Trust me, I played far to many CP Battle on the Dunes recently to not know. ._.

I prefer a double artemis side personally, as they give me a choice in what range I engage at. With a good crew, I can have my gunners soften up a target, forcing the enemy into a repair mode, before making my charge.

Good guide though, I learned a trick or two from it. ;)

I'd like a separate slot for hair and hats. I know some combos will look rather silly, but I'd love to use specific hairs one certain hats.

Edit: AND CAT EARS/TAIL. <3

EditEdit: Oh, and I'd like a cat theme'd pyra skin, with ears and tail. Would pay good money for that. :D

General chat was instructing newbies on how to play the game, when someone said:

*Someone*: "Just remember rule #1"
*Me and 3 other people*: "Rule #1, It is always Shink's fault."

Gameplay / Re: 1.3.3 GUNS AND GUNNER SKILL BALANCE
« on: October 30, 2013, 08:27:09 am »
Just reporting in from my play over the last two days. Gat seems incredibly underwhelming now. My difecta carronade junker is in range by the time they are starting to make a dent in my armor. And I typically win the armor stripping race after that point.

My 2 cents would be this. Gat vs disables. Can it do significant damage before it will be disabled by disablers (Most of which work equally well if not better at close range)? My answer would be no. An Artemis will disabled it before it can get armor down, as will hwatcha's or even well aimed carronades.

Can you disable their disabling guns first so your gat can take down the armor? Perhaps, but I wouldn't bet on the gat to take well attended armor down before the disable weapon is back online and disabling you again.

Can you position yourself so that their disables can't get arc? Yes. But this is true of any close range weapon combo, what makes gat special in taking advantage of this?

What I am trying to point out is the same as many others, the damage needs to be there at those close ranges. Especially for a weapon whose primary purpose is to strip armor. I approve of the range nerf, but the damage needs to be put closer to the 1.3.2 number (But perhaps a tiny bit lower, like 9.)

Community Events / Re: Guns of Icarus Online - The Board Game!
« on: October 24, 2013, 02:47:53 pm »
I'd look at this more like Diplomacy or Game of Thrones Board game. My one issue is what happens when one team starts to dominate the entire map? Or if two teams ally together to take the entire map? Such is the nature of board games.

I'd personally move the galleon to be 1 move, 4 react to make it the opposite of the squid. I'd also change the pyra to be 3 move, 2 react. It is already a very dominant ship, why make it have the best stats strategic stats as well?

I think people could organize it well enough with the easy going rules on subs. Just have to find a way to make the resources and movements easy to do.

Guides / Re: Cheesys Guide to Ramming with Finesse
« on: October 19, 2013, 07:44:19 am »
I'd note that Kerosene and Drogan Chute reduce the amount you will spin from a ram, similar to Moonshine, though the effect isn't as large, but it is still noticeable.

Similarly, claw will /increase/ the amount you spin, so make sure you do not have it on while ramming. However, if you are being rammed from the side, it may cause you to spin violently and help escape secondary ram hits as well as get out of a pyra's front arc.

Gameplay / Re: Drogue Chute
« on: October 19, 2013, 04:47:32 am »
I have been using it more and more on my Carronade Junker build. The basic idea for it is give my carronade gunners a bit of extra time to pop the enemy balloon. And since the enemy usually lacks chute, they will drop while I stay relatively high. From there, I am open to many different tactics. Go down to engage them, stay up and repair, or even turning to engage their ally.

That moment when you join an in progress game on a mobula, to discover it is
A. The default set up.
B. There is no other crew and you are an engineer.

-Later-
That moment when your AI has harpooned your mobula to a pyramidion and after some shooting and moving, you use it to pull the pyra into terrain and destroy it.

Isn't Sunderland a dual clan member of the Ducks and Cakes? Thus his posts are counted for both?

The Lounge / Re: What did you name YOURSELF and why?
« on: October 10, 2013, 08:09:29 pm »
So, I changed names from Katastrophe to Kitty.Hawk. So time for a new name explanation! First, KittyHawk was taken, but Kitty Dot Hawk sounded good to.

So the name itself is actually my Shadowrun character's name. She was a cat girl changling who was known for her usage of Rutger Warhawks (The magnum of the game). She would at times dual wield them due to having an insanely high pistols skill. Thus her name, KittyHawk.

Now, some might remember my ship, the Seductive Kitty. This is also calling back to KittyHawk, as her second primary skill was in seduction. My gaming group determined that any problem put to them could, in fact, be solved by either seduction or guns, sometimes both.

Upon hitting a building and spinning around,
"That was an overly aggressive tactical turn."

Or, if my back is turned to the enemy...
"This is a surprise tactical retreat maneuver."

Alternately,
"We are now prepared to ram them with our butt."
