Me and 4 friends just got the game (like 2 days ago), and we try to play together some I'm rarely with randoms. Anyway I came up with this configuration for my favorite ship:
Stern gun: Gatling
Main deck gun: Harpoon
Left mediums: Manticores
Right mediums: Heavy Flak and Heavy Carronade
Top deck crew: Pilot (canister, moonshine, claw, scanner, greased) and Engineer (scanner, mallet, chemical spray, greased)
Bottom deck crew: Gunner (lesmok, charged, heatsink, mallet) and Engineer (extinguisher, scanner, dynabuff, heatsink)
So basically, the pilot can fix the balloon/man the gatling if need be
The using the harpoon combined with moonshine is basically to stabilize an enemy ship to hit with our left broadside of manticores
The right side is more versatile with the range of the flak and the balloon popping carronade
I figure the gunner can also switch to heatsink on the flak so they explode at close range if need be.
I'm wondering:
-Is the harpoon really worth it, or should I swap for mortar/flak/gatling?
-Should I just go 4 manticores?
-Should I swap the heavy flak for a lumberjack and make the right side maximum balloon popping?
-Do the crew loadouts make sense?
It seems to work pretty well, usually nets a lot of kills and rare deaths, but I think we've been mostly playing against bad players. Thoughts? Advice is much appreciated
