Gameplay / Re: Incentives to Move

mercs are amazing for sniping thats true, has anyone tried getting their engies AND gunners to focus on engine repairs while you close the distance and then focus on firing? you'll be surprised how easy it is since the merc turn is quite lumbersome

I see a problem there. Either you are in brawling range if you can dissable, and you've allready dealt with the problem, or you are sniping yourself. The general  Idea is to keep them busy with something that is not shooting at you while you approach, but accomplishing that on open maps is another story.

Gameplay / Re: GUNS & GUNS SKILL v1.3 Balance Issues

I don't think Gat needs changes. Merc maybe too effective against armor, but I thing gat is fine (takes gat a while to pierce armor escpecialy if you lack heavy ammo or have problems hitting - lately our gunners have been having problems bringing junker armor down even with heavy clip, takes 3.5 - 4 clips of gatling to take junker's Armor. Haven't tried it myself since 1.3, haven't had time to junp of a spot where I could - either helping new players or on hull duty. Can someone check Heavy clip + Galing and check bullet spread and bullet offset on heavy clip in comparison to none (according to tooltip description there should be no diffirence and no spread(?) ).

With firefighting changes either extinguisher and chemspray are too useless or fire is stacking much much too fast. Mostly flamers. Flamers weren't as bad as people regarded them in 1.2, people just weren't using them correctly. Iike having your a prymidion have flak in rear port slot, javelin in port slot, get in front left and carrorade front right. You still have a good weapon combo, but you are doing it wrong. Or have gat/flak front and use flak to try and kill armor and use gat to kill hull - it's a good combo but you are doing it wrong.

Now extinguishing fire takes 6 seconds (chem spray 3sec, extinguisher 3 sec) and 2 people. Other way you extinguish fire fast, but it lasts for .1 of a sec, before you have fire back or takes 18 seconds to extinguish fire with chem spray.

Level 4+ are not newbies. They might not be very good, but they are not newbies.
Hight end achievments WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE FARMABLE. Perfect victories happen, but they need a lot of work. I've got a lot of perfect victories without stacking teams against 4+. Unless 2 8+ players on a single ship count. Heck I've had perfect victories even on training days as a pilot (trainers tend to be pilot on training days).

I'd love to get 100 Victories with 100% hull health and no deaths against 13+ captains, but I just won't happen for a long time since the achievments on the way there require me to be a gungeeneer instead of main hull engineer, witch is very rarely - most people who know me, prefer me there, for a good reason, to  be on full, or it's just some newbies I don't know, and trust with hull :P There is a good reason why it took me about 120 hours to get from level 9 to 10 as engineer. Becouse I don't care about geting Achievemnts right now.
A lot of have very hard achievments (at least when they are announced).

By the time they hit achievments with level requirements they are all experienced players (level 6). One of the Captains on the winning team in the latest tournament was thereabouts - think it's safe to assume that such levels will be experienced. New players have worse problems to get over, than level requirements for some achievments high up.

I think 10+ is reasonable enough. Especialy since the skill diference between 10 and 15 is not nearly as large as  it is between 3 and 8.

To be honest if you are on repair duty if you are not on hull watching it (and thus seing your armor being shedded) you are repairing something else assuming that somebody is either shooting at you with gat or waiting to reload his gat, so he can shoot at your armor ^^

For long time and experienced players the beauty of the game IS that shooting is gone by estmation as is with the damage you've coused (estimation). [That sort of things IS the beauty of indie games]
By following the combat log you can learn a lot (as hull engineer I do actualy have a decent grasp of what's going on).

I think it was Clara Skyborn that told us that the clan tags are just a temporary solution until actual clan system was implemented.

As for separating match and global: it was a requested feature by a lot of people.

27. Medals are automatic, but those are displayed only in you progress page. Badges are manual, and you can choose witch you can display on your profile page (only 3 atm). If you clikc on somebodys name in Social tab you'll see their badges and gameplay stats. They are probably manual becouse that's how prizes system has been done).

Actualy merc is better even in very short range than non-heavy gat against junkers. The spread on gat means most of shots will miss junker.

Flak will allways be better with pugs (and against ships with short armor rebuild time). Otherwise I've known light mortars are underutilised for a long time now :)

If you were less focused of chasing levels instead of having fun, then you'd have... you know more fun. I fully agree that a lot of hight level achievments are nightmare (literaly thousands of buffs ove cousre of several achievments for example - with the changes to firefighting, fire fighting tools are even more important to have, or extinguish 200 hull fire with chem spray, with reduced effectiveness this takes waay too long to extinguish fire with it ), and I'm up for complaining. The only issues with some of the complaints is that it's getting longer and longer to level up. So what? It's no as if there were any actual benefits to leveling.

So something like "ly-oob-lyana"? I guess that's not so bad.
That's much easier to understand than phonetical explanation :)
So much confusion comes from the fact that different languages assign different sounds to same letters.

The name came from ancient word lob. In English it's a verb meaning to throw something in a high arc (think catapult), or modern use in tennis witch is a very high aching shot. In our language its an archaic word that is out of use, but it means a hill with a specific shape (steep slopes and wide & flat top).

To be honest I didn't think it that important, and you didn't ask. Suprised you didn't suspect or ask last time, considering nobody but Austrian or Slovenian is likely to know of circumstances of death of Kärnten's governor :P

I'm not from Štajerska/Untersteiermark, I'm actualy from Ljubljana.

I Mattilald Anguisad pledge to teach any newcommer willing to learn, to be play well enough that Captain Phoenix won't yell at them (rule number one: don't join his ship, I you do so, it's your own fault if he yells at you :P ). I pledge to (help) keep peace, and be a a giant floodlight of ... light, in the community and in a pause between cogs seasons try to organise fun competitive events with speciffic build restrictions - or probbably a whole event with predetermined randomised restrictions to builds.

You can call me Matt for short, becouse I know I've invented an over-coplicated Steampunk-ish name - It's loosely based on my real name. I'm From Slovenia witch lies in central Europe. I've been in love with Guns of Icarus Online since I've bought it last Christmass.
