This might not be considered gentlemanly, but I promptly tell those folks to bugger off unless I feel like playing ramming pyramidion.

Play how you like. Screw the randos on the Internet.

As stated above, sadly you can't. The 4-pack includes 1 copy that goes right to your inventory, and 3 other copies go to your inventory as giftable. Sort of Valve's way of preventing folks from stocking up on sales like this and selling off/trading off or what have you with the games.

I worked around it, though. First, create a mule account for yourself on steam, verify the email and sign up for the community. Then, get a hold of a friends Steam account, send a friend request to your mule account, and buy the 4-pack on it (You'll have an option to opt out saving your credit card, in case you have snakey friends). That account will get a copy in it's game library, and the 3 gift copies that go into the inventory can be sent to your mule account after accepting the friend request on the mule from your friend's account.

From there, go ahead and distribute the games, just have your buddies add the mule account as a friend, as for whatever reason I couldn't make friend requests on the mule account without buying a game on it.

Hope this helps, bud. I bought two 4-packs for GoIO by doing this. Cheers.

Yeah, I've done my share for trying to sucker friends into this game. Stumbled across the game last week, and I've spent close to $70ish CAD on 4-packs for buddies. Only two friends are not quite into the game, but that's a small price to pay for some quality fun. Winning or losing this game is a blast.

Only kickstarted $20, but I've got huge hopes for Adventure mode to say the least.

Gameplay / Re: Can anyone explain the Harpoon Gun to me?

I was a little disheartened that the harpoon gun doesn't work how it does in my mind. I envisioned making a pass on a ship and hooking into it, causing the two ships to circle one another while we (hopefully) disable their broadside weapons and carronade the shit out of the enemy balloon until they crash.

Instead, we couldn't quite make a left turn and were promptly dragged into a cliff. Good times.

General Discussion / Re: No visible crew on enemy ship?

I had the same thought as well. Hopefully it gets added again later on. I'd like to see folks scurrying about as I bring the cleansing fire to their ships.
