Title: Throttle position keybinds?
Post by: Elsid Barrett on December 29, 2015, 12:10:01 pm
So right now there's pretty much no way to pilot with any manner of analog throttle control. I could see how adding a whole control axis could be tough, but what about maybe adding a keybind for each throttle position? That way, folks with programmable throttles could set up bands for keystrokes and use 'em that way.

Either I don't understand or see an issue. Also, as a european, I barely held myself from making a joke about americans and their automatic gearboxes.

Ha! I've driven a standard since 1998 :P

Anyway, I just love the feel of a throttle over smashing keys for forward and backward speeds. There's just no way to set up a throttle to work right now. I thought maybe offering a keybind for each position would be a nice, easy way to make programmable throttles work, and give some added functionality to keyboard players, too.

Have you tried binding throttle to your scroll wheel on mouse? Feels very fluid.

No, it doesn't at all. Max forward/backwards throttle would be extremely useful. If it's not against the design.
