I am still waiting for the actual harpoon fix and not visual harpoon fix, its still only connects to the ship and not actually pulling it in like it should for months now.

Other than that, great update!

Yay!
Thanks for the update!!!
2v2 on a section of raid!!!
Blocked players not being able to send clan invites, I reported that, thanks for the very quick fix on it!!!
(Because, there is a certain clan being so damn annoying, but now, block and report saves the day!)

Thanks for these features! The HUD and applaud are really good ideas, and the gamemodes now showing is something that should have always been there. Good update

Good update :) the new map is nice, the gamemode shown when choosing map too, same for the spectator and the engineer ai.
How does the applaud work? is it more like a lottery, or who gets more of them will get the free stuff? who picks the winner will tell everyone why or..?
Anyway, i'm really thankful for the new compass, now i can use it again like i used to do :D

- Pilots reconnecting to their ship as engineers
..this is actually what i waited for *_*

So far I mostly like it. If the compass really indicates ship height now like it appears to do, that's especially great. I do have a lot of trouble reading the compass letters, however. And, the clip amount indicator seems way less prominent than it used to be, which is a bit irksome, as I don't like taking my eyes off what I'm shooting at to check the ammo left. Otherwise, looking good. =D God I'm so glad you guys indicate the map type now, and if that "getting stuck in several spots" bugfix applies to pretty much everywhere on a goldfish, hallelujah.

Wanted in future: Moar female voice packs. Slightly lower hwacha clip size. Successful harpoon hit last slightly longer.

Slightly lower hwacha clip size.

1 problem;

If it doesn't end in 0 or 5 I will rage.

Maybe decrease damage and increase clip size?
Title: Re: Version 1.4.2 Release Notes
Post by: Schwalbe on July 03, 2015, 04:44:56 pm
Leave hwacha alone ffs!

About HUD - aye, the letters are definitely less prominent, took me twice as long as usual to read them when I needed it. And I needed it BADLY.

And though I like the new HUD, there's one thing I feel it fails almost completely:
Point capturing in CP modes.
I have no idea whether the point is being captured or not.
I have no idea how many ships are in the said point.
It might also be the case of "not noticing something", but honestly - I believe that if somebody does not notice something when it comes to HUD - it's rather a bad sign.

Otherwise - yes, all seems good. ^^
I only had one infuriating issue, but I'll leave it for feedback@muse.

This!
Especially the new clip amount indicator is more effective for chameleons, not for human players. Please move it back to it's former place.

Did something happen to the pyra?

I feel like something is not normal about it...

I feel like something has been changed but I cannot figure out what or why they would change it...

Compass letters are impossible to read, but I'm glad altitude is visible again.

The compass is way too small. At least for higher resolutions, while I have problem reading out the letters with full hd, my friend playing it kinda in potato res has no problem. (I think someone in global said that in 4k the compass is practically invisible.) It seems the scalling of the compass is broken, comparing screenshot of my friend with mine, the stamina and health bar seems to be comparable in size, the compass is not.
Title: Re: Version 1.4.2 Release Notes

We are working on a fix for the compass. The lack of scaling is currently a workaround to a stranger bug.

The current new map seems a bit too big for 2v2. There's plenty of area to sneak around and lots of clouds so I don't think it needs to be so large and/or cloudy.

Also can we fix the two invisible impact points around the middle of duel at dawn. It's entertaining to watch unsuspecting pilots but they've been there too long.

I prefer the current captain tool icon at the top rather than the bottom.

Its a temporary seasonal thing they put in for things like independence day, Christmas etc etc.
I've missed the fireworks since last I saw them!
But don't fear they go back to ship parts :p

I usually don't play as pilot, but my friend complained about Mobulas handling too.
Then we played Junker and he said that it steers more 'directly' than ever.

I thougt he got crazy since I didn't found anything mentioned in the patchnotes.
But if other ppl feel similar.. Weird coincidence! :P
(Sorry for my english if I made any mistakes :3)

I double checked all in-game ship stats with my database of the old patch and there wasn't any contradicting data, I thought the case could be some stats changed like what happen to the squid a couple patches back where the top longitudinal speed changed. It is clearly not the case, and I am guessing you all are just having "new patch syndrome" where everything seems to be different and new suddenly.

Flares feel very different. I don't think anything was changed besides the visual but they feel slow and shorter range.

That is because they are bugged on certain maps for some reason. They will deploy and illuminate from the moment of being fired, but will still continue moving forward. this leads me to believe their speed or movement could be bugged too even on the maps they do seem to work normally.

I've heard people saying that the new flares aren't as bright and annoying. With my graphics at the lowest I never had problems with flares, are the new flares better?
Title: Re: Version 1.4.2 Release Notes

I've heard people saying that the new flares aren't as bright and annoying. With my graphics at the lowest I never had problems with flares, are the new flares better?

I tested the assumption that they travel slower or have a lower max range and that appears to be false - they have the same max range, and assuming that the bug is not affecting shell life they should also have their appropriate speeds in that case.

I cannot comment about illumination because my PC is crap and I can't have any settings on medium without having game crashes.

I did find out though that if you shoot in practice a normal flare it deploys right away like many experienced in the bug. But for some reason shooting lesmok makes the flare not illuminate at all, even when it hits max range or a cloud - as if it never even reached the arming time. (reported that too.)

I also experience lit flares moving.  I think that's part of the change where they have a 200m arming time now.

I have had the default to global chat bug since the patch along with a few others in the same lobby, not sure exactly what made it start or stop.

Also the new buckshot tracers are invisible in sandbox.

On the up side the new compass fixed a bug that annoyed me where the ship marker was out of line with the ships position.

Yeah I've got that as well. Also I do agree the compass should be more readable. Beyond those two things, I love the new update.
