((Yeah I know, an OOC thread in the cantina, but it is solely a thread for roleplayers, an idea I thought you might like just based on what I've observed.. :)
So it seems to be a regular occurrence that your players end up on an expedition or quest of some sort, one which, for many parts could be replicated in game! :)
Back when I ran guilds in Lord of the Rings online and WoW and Ultima Online, I would give clan members tasks to do and ask for "Written reports" to be handed in detailing what had happened during their task, and they players would do this task in game, and take screenshots while performing this task, for example a guardsman was tasked with clearing the undead from the cemetery so the mayors wife could visit her mothers tomb. The guard done screenies of the initial clean up, then done screenshots escorting the mayors wife, guarding her (from the respawns) from.further attacks.
So I was thinking, what if you guys and girls acted these expeditions out in game, took screenshots and then wrote it up on.forums as if in progress?
Just something I was pondering over... :) ))

((tech skills are no biggy, Steam would be your friend for this, f12 for a screenshot, upload it to steam cloud and paste the link inside [ img ] here [ / img ] but without the spaces, if you wanted to cut out the UI from screenshots you could use Paint to drop the image and then host the image on an image host site such as imageshack.com or photobucket, there's hundreds of image hosting sites for free :)
As Shaded said, the big obstacle would be organisation, taking the people involved in the RP threads into a match or two to follow the quest in game.
Just a little idea I thought I would share with everyone incase any wanted to follow it up :) ))

Precision is entirely possible :)
The reason I suggested screenshots and "reports" or even diaries, is it is much much easier than recorded stuff, but if you have the patience and dedication for videos, then that would be awesome!

It has done it to a lot of threads. Anyways.
((Private matches is a very good idea, to remove the score bar, im sure that spectators can do that. if not some editing can be done but, private matches are very good))

Spectating can be an incredible tool for recording and screenshots, among other things, you can also remove all the UI in spectate :)
With the right organisation a lot could be done to make videos and screenshots for a wide range of things :)

Hardly a roleplay of video series but Satchmo and Myself are planning a radio podcast for the purpose of entertaining people with our stupidity and endless supplies of beers... We also intend to provide teaching tips and suggestions of how to do well in battle but, the booze may change that. *Subjects are subject to change*
Maybe a storybook podcast could be a good way to perform role play.
Every podcast can be a different chapter.
For example, the Aerodrome trailer contained players reading out letters which was a really good listen too.

You mean you publish your stories and earn money from them?
Otherwise there's nothing to worry about.
Many many laws are misunderstood because people want them to be mis-understood, but assuming you're not reproducing and distributing someone else's work, and that you're not making profit off of someone else's work (without permission) CR shouldn't cause any problems.

hmm how about "Of Black Feathers and White Tails". there would be the refined and proper but quirky and weird fjord baronies. and the strong and brave but stupid and unrully angleans. as they both "try" and regain a point.
the main captain of the fjord baronies would be somebody very articulate and has a sense of style (me)
and the main captain of the angleans would be brave and brash (carn maybe?)
perhaps we could have try-outs for crew members (Koali must be nuetral though and appear on the baronies and anglean side)

The Angleans are far, far from stupid.
If they were they would have all died from cold, being attacked, or exploding from volatile old tech.

Meh, I may be smart, but in stress situations it tends to go on autopilot. And seriously, Angleans are in no way stupid. They have more old tech than the other factions, and are the only ones with automatons. The attitude is merciless in combat, as in the frozen wastes, mercy is something they cannot afford. I just enjoy being the "commando", the baddass/comedic relief. But we couldn't just keep to those two. There's four other factions, but baronies and Anglea seem to be two of the most popular. I'd personally would prefer being some sort of grizzled old gunner, having to deal with a noob crew. And I've been in that situation, many, many, times.

Yeah it would be noice since we have a mix of factions such as baronies,anglean,mercantile, yeshan all on one ship alone....patrolling and guarding a small town in the middle of nowhere..

Ok, then how has the forum not updated yet? And that's not much higher than me, I just don't pilot much. Pub noob crews tend to discourage that.

Well if the crews are equal, then odds are it would be about as even a match as possible. Also, this is turning into a boring pissing contest. We haven't even flown with or against each other. No idea of the skill level of the other.
