Title: the EU sessions discussion.
Post by: Skrimskraw on April 12, 2013, 09:44:35 am
Hey guys!

Unfortunately this upcoming week I wont be able to attend the training sessions.

However, this thread is for discussing the dates.

I think ataris will be doing this coming week alone, so he will need a lot of help from you veteran guys.

Hmm, I'm around, all I need is the dates, as Skrim said. I'm free pretty much every evening, so I'll move around with other people who can't make some days

Is this time comfortable for you, guys?

Just the right time for me, Mondays and Tuesdays aren't possible for me, so that should work out well! I'll mark it down in my calendar and try to get nothing interfering!

Just played a few matches on the EU training day.  Lot of fun, some very talented new captains, Snow (something or other) and Sanguis did amazing in their respective roles.
Was a crewman on Sanguis ship, listened to advice, applied it, rocked out like a boss and we scored many kills in his Junker.
Switched teams after a few victories in a row and captained for some experienced crew mix with newbies, Dragoniere(spell?) was a great gunner, speaks in infantry crew gunner talk, its like having Charon on my ship.  Snow was a lvl 1 in charge of a long range spire, did beautiful paired with 2 pyramidions in the canyon, talking in captain chat and coordinating strikes to bring down ships and ambush prey.  Just a bang up, awesome few matches with good players.

Dragoniere(spell?)

That was probably dragonmere.

Hmm, I think it's Trey Snow. We've met so many times in random lobbies that if I were in a Japanese RPG, I'd say our fates were intertwined.

Oh, and that reminds me- sorry for being late to the party folks, I've just got back from the US and had to recalculate timings and such. As a result, I forgot the UK is on GMT+1, hence I showed up 40 mins late, which I thought was 20 mins early.

i'm very sorry for being late yesterday, some sort of a sudden problem couldn't even throw a word for someone to inform.
Anyway it was done really great by you guys to substitute me and run the event without any talk.
Thanks a lot!

Aye, I can add to the praise, that worked pretty well yesterday! I guess putting it at 9 PM helps with intertwining the EU and US timezones and players a little!

Personally I'd like us to go for 8 PM again, though, and if we're around long enough US-lads can take over? Might be just my problem though, because I've always got to be gone from 10 pm to 11 pm. (CET)

Title: Re: the EU sessions discussion.
Post by: Kyren on April 27, 2013, 04:14:24 pm
Aye, I can be there. 9 PM isn't my favorite time, because I've only got time until 10 PM, but it'd be fine with me, and it didn't seem to work out bad for all the others.
Title: Re: the EU sessions discussion.
Post by: Skrimskraw on April 28, 2013, 10:06:45 am
we can start 8.30 if you want, I'll be there.

the only problem we had with 8pm before is that more people are on at 9.

also an hour is actually a good time limit at the moment.

What I do is tell the new players to add us all to friendlist, and join us, because we will help them any day they want as long as they are willing to listen to us. Especially me, since I run my crew a little weird sometimes.

what we should aim for is actually more than 1 time per week, with cogs closing soon we could fill in that saturday gap, since it is the most likely day for most players to have free time.

Very interested in joining one of those training day matches, just to clarify, we're talking 09:00 (or 08:30) CEST here, right?

as standard we run it wednesday 9pm CET. (gmt+2 atm now I think)

Tomorrow I will have it on the steam group, and contacted Keyvias: he advertises for it on the facebook page.

thanks for this weeks training guys!
I managed to help a few players, and they seemed to be thankfull.

Unfortunately I will not be attending next week, as I am in Munich.
if you are having problems scheduling the event contact Ataris or shinkurex, they know how to do it.
Also when you schedule it, just write to keyvias, He'll advetise for it here and about.

hope all goes well.

Wish you good luck in your journey
I was in Munich once, it's a nice city by the way!

I can be found on the forum or in Steamgroup everyday. In the case of USA Training guess it's better to contact Shinkurex

I'll officially set EU Training on usual time, May 8 21:00 CET

Also you already may know, that all CAs can join Beginnes matches (https://gunsoficarus.com/community/forum/index.php/topic,766.msg14402.html#msg14402), so you can run additional training for novices (solo of in team) any time comfortable for you.

Bah, trouble incoming on my side. I'm not sure I'll be there from 9 to 10 today, better don't count on me this time! Tomorrow's holiday in Austria though, and I'm on overtime-leave on Friday, so I'll be able to help out on those days in exchange.

a ton of new players got signed up as you all know.

are we still going for wednesday this week.?
Title: Re: the EU sessions discussion.
Post by: Kyren on May 13, 2013, 04:24:57 am
I'd recommend going for it, because the fixed schedule will allow some time to spread the word still.

I won't be there this time either, though :/ I'm going to Spain that day, but I'd be in if we could do a extra training on Tuesday. Won't go to my Spanish course that day, because I'll have more than enough Spanish on Wednesday, so I'd have time in the afternoon/evening. I'm here for sure on the supposed Training Day on the 22nd again, though. That'll be 2 days after the kickstarter, there'll surely be a lot of players around still.

Won't be able to make it today, I've got my finals this saturday (evening school), so I'll be studying :/ If there's really a shortage of teachers for today or you get 3 monolingual german speakers that you can't help, I can jump in, but I'd prefer to be with you next week again, in goods spirits after hopefully passing my exam this saturday!

I'll be there still, but with 2 missing Trainers we'll be taking Volunteers :P Technically we did all the other times too, but now it'd be great if some of you could step up and help out! I've sent some PM's already to people who helped out in the past, but maybe not to you fine lad/lass who's reading this. Tomorrow, 9 PM CET, come and do your duty for Austria :)

Urm I guess if you're in dire need that I could hop in. I'm pretty sure I'll have time. Or... It depends, how long does these usually run for?

Though I'll probably end up confusing the newbies on account of my rising rustyness on the game, heh (which is a part, besides time, as to why I've so shamefully ignored these events)...
Title: Re: the EU sessions discussion.
Post by: Kyren on June 26, 2013, 10:48:23 am
We usually quit around 10 PM, that's late enough for most of us already :)

We haven't had many level 1 players on the Training Matches lately that really needed ground-up explanations. It's more about having someone on your ship to get advice and hints from while you're flying, or serving with a crew that you know won't take it bad when you take a bit too long to repair that hull, or if your aim isn't that good. It's as much friendly practice as it is training or schooling.

Don't you worry, when I was online just now (~7:30 PM CET) there wasn't a huge load of players. And a good amount of CAs online too. I trust it'll look the same at 9 :) Hoping for a nice training day, because I just got my ship handed back to me in pieces some times :D

Aye, fixed it in the Announcement post (https://gunsoficarus.com/community/forum/index.php/topic,1135.msg18888.html#msg18888). I've also dispatched a PM to Keyvias and scheduled the event here in the forum calendar. Once I get home, I'll also take care of the Training Days group, if none is faster than me :P

We managed yesterday, thanks to our regulars, and with a special thanks to Keon for jumping in to help out :)

Gentlemen, this somehow makes me feel sad. I didn't notice, but yesterday was my supposedly last Training Day for a while. Next Wednesday I'll be quitting my post, and while I'd love to still join up, I won't be at home to make it. You think you could spare me a Training Day on Tuesday or so?

sadly I have the same problem as Kyren.

I haven't been that active due to me pursuing other interests.
All my goio time now goes to my clan and I no longer feel the same drive to jump in on training days.
Some day I might jump in and help, but I just don't feel like doing it at the moment.
I'm starting the hardest year on my studies which also is the reason I am no longer a CA, since I won't have the time to do work for MUSE, and i'd rather use my time playing with the clan.

I hope some of you will take over what Shinkurex, Kyren, Ataris, me and a lot other have been working on these past months.

I'll manage to be here today, I mixed the dates up a little and my girlfriend's moving in on the 30th. I'd like to try something different today, also in respects to the Training Days to come - work with Crew Formation all the time. When we're searching for players, the lobby is usually quite filled still. We should be able to get 4 ships together at least for the start, with responsive players who joined by clicking our names and not by the Quick Join button.
