I know this ship has it's role as an amazing sniping support in 3v3 and 4v4. But I believe it's too situational. This ship really need some changes towards versatility.
And I think that the problem is not it's stats, but it's weapon mounts. So, I'm thinking about this layout to be better suited than the current one:
- lower deck: one heavy weapon and one light weapon on each side;
- upper deck: one light weapon facing forward and one light weapon facing back.
I.e. something like a fatter Junker — with less mobility and more firepower. So, do you think it would make Galleon better or worse?
-
The galleon is a broadside ship that has no need for front or rear guns. The rear gun slot should never be used as an offensive weapon, and it's not enough as a defensive weapon- put a flare there. A rear gun is useless unless all engines are broken.
One light and one heavy gun is not enough to compete with the damage of 3 light guns (junker mobula) or one heavy and two light (spire). The galleon needs all 3 left side guns to be effective. The right side is generally for close range defense.
This suggestion would make the galleon a lot worse. It doesn't need a front gun and needs to be able to shoot 3 guns at once.
-
Also, the proposed rework is nowhere near slight.
-
The rear gun should not be used as offensive? Posh. Gatling Galleon Moonshine Buttram all the way. I don't put flares on any of my ships, actually.
The only change I would personally make on the Galleon is one more light gun mount in the crow's nest on the right side of the ship.
-
That would give the thing a use, wouldn't it?
-
Crows nest is where balloon was.
-
Yeah, but there's nothing up there now, rendering it useless.
-
Indeed, and has been pretty useless since they moved it. Needs more dakka up there.
-
It's a crows nest, I use it for peeking over the rocks in canyons.
-
Well, yes. And if it had a gun, you could use it for peeking over rocks and shooting at things you see.
-
All it needs is the heavy weapons un-nerfed and you'll see how scary a Galleon can be.
-
Isn't it already scary?
-
Good grief, if they un-nerf the heavy flak...........I've only heard stories.

You'd never ever approach a broadside again.

Imagine a Galleon with both the Heavy Flak and Lumberjack with all of it's release stats, just the Heavy Flak alone you do not need a stripping weapon and at in your face range the Lumberjack can still pop balloons.
-
Considering how great heavy weapons especially the h flak is now, early heavy weapons sound stupid.
-
I've watched idiotic talentless YouTubers fly with early LumberJack and Heavy Flak and get kills, just because the weapons were too OP...
Galleon broad sides are things to fear should there be a good crew aboard..
And agree with Sammy:
