This was an ancient tradition back in the Clan Mac Addict forums. All us UT players would sit around the forum campfire, showing our desktops. Some folks had custom UI features and it would spur others to check into them too. Others would have unique screenshots or art as their backgrounds. But no matter what you posted, you got the chance to see through the eyes of your opponents for a moment. Was usually a constant stream of conversations that would spring up. Almost about as much as the rig listing threads.
So anyway, try to keep it PG-13. I only say that because there was folks back then who posted near X rated backgrounds and kept the moderators busy.

Laptop's desktop. Why even have anything on the desktop. Unfortunately, my browser is not as clean as my desktop so I have multiple windows open, each with more than necessary tabs.

ahahaha this is my desktop, a week after I dumped all the shit on my desktop into a folder that I will probably never ever sort through because I literally ran out of space on my desktop. It was just starting to put stuff outside the viewable range. I should consider smaller icons :P
Just filled with random stuff and mainly pictures that should one day go into the wiki and in-game calculations. Everyone had such tidy backgrounds, this is the other side of the coin. Also, important to note that the picture in the background is a result of D.lo-res drawing what I told her would be "me laying naked in a pile of cats.". Here's a picture without all the clutter -

had a character of every class major class.
I was pretty much a sheckle hoarder and played it like a game of wall street and bought everything I need via constantly playing up the in game player economy (its how I could afford to shell out on 4 accounts worth of characters and fully kit them out).
as for my desktop-one of those guys that has nsfw desktops or badass lolis or both at the same time.

Unfortunately that's only my windows 8 compatible games, I have (estimated) 200 games boxed up and stored away until I manage to get myself another laptop/desktop with Windows 7 so I can play all the old gems without needing to email each individual developer because Windows decided to make 8 ****.....

I'm working on a new(er) gaming computer right now from raiding the remains of other computers, so this is my laptop.

It's a kind of Rainmeter (http://rainmeter.deviantart.com/) based off the LCARS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LCARS) from Star Trek. I edited the skin so that all the buttons lead to useful places like Youtube and my University's website. You don't get to see my IP though - I Are Hide.

Cool setup Jacob. Is it odd that the first thing I thought when I saw the "time ctrl" was that it was a time machine joke? Then I realized it probably let's you change your computer's time, and I was disappointed.

A4Tech Bloody v3, (Also have b120 keyboard, and they look really nice together) but I don't really enjoy that I have paid for mouse and have to pay again for software upgrade to make it more useful than just changing illumination brightness. So this is my first and last bloody mouse. I do not recommend.
BTW Lueosi is winner here, but I also fell a little hipster, because I see here I'm the only person using Waterfox as my default browser. Yay :D

@Guras yeah I have to agree I was peeved at the extra purchase attempts bloody made, they were very crafty to set the store as default option too in attempts to make it look like a requirement (I'm running with flashy lights but no, no recoil for me)

I'm on a different device now, but here's my main wallpaper (without my slight color edits). I do tend to have very few icons and keep the taskbar on auto hide... so this isn't far off.
