Title: Minor but important fixes
Post by: Hoja Lateralus on February 21, 2015, 09:02:00 pm
Hello guys, recently I've decided to take notes when I find something annoying in GOIO, here's what I got:

- Button [Invite party] (or sth similar) in crew form should 'actually' send game invites to your party (with all the "Mr.Disaster invites you to play" thingie) instead of just showing a message on the party chat.

- There should be a sound when captain changes the ship, when we got a recommended loadout offer and when the match will begin soon (different sound for 30 seconds and 5 or 10 seconds). Many of us while waiting in the lobby do something different (or just browse cat pictures in Steam browser) so the sound would be very helpful. Oh, and also a sound when we recieve a PM!

- A clan page should mention the member count. Now when I see some clantag I don't know I check the profile and go to the clan page. Then I realise that member count is not there, so I go to community, go to clan list, write a clan name, click a button (I cannot confirm with enter? ughhhhhhhhhhh) and then I can finally see how many members clan does have.

- Make an [Exit Match] button. I remind you of this thread: https://gunsoficarus.com/community/forum/index.php/topic,4735.msg80283.html#msg80283

I like this one.  I've never thought about it myself but now that you mention it, an audible or visual queue would be nice for at least a couple of reasons:
* on the same ship so need to change loadout
* on opposite team and need to readjust strategy

Logic, don't you mean "Hear, hear"? ;)

But I guess this is a voice of approval anyways.

Party invite actually sending invites: Yes Please.

Not so sure about the change ship sounds, it just means more noises that may confuse  new players, also not very needed in the.majority of lobbies (though I can understand its worth in the lower level lobbies where people.dont.communicate..)

Clan count: Nice but how important is it?

Exit button: All the yes.

Party invites do work if you go into the social tab -> Party and on the bottom there is a "Send Invites" button or something.

For the ship change, How about a small bell being rung twice With the ships class glowing red a few times to attract your attention to the fact they changed their ship?  Not the name of the ship since ships can all have the same name.

Meh, it maybe the Change Ship Noiseâ„¢ could be something you could turn on/off in the settings? and would be automatically off?

Also, there have been so many times my Captain has changed the ship/guns and forgot to tell us and then the match starts, it is quite annoying. Personally I'd like a Ship Change Notification.

Got a response from Keyvias:

"These are some good ideas.

We'll definitely check them out and see what we can do.
"

Do they ever give a different response?

Yeah, sometimes they say sth like "This is too much of a hassle to do, we can't do it".

Or sometimes "No, we won't bring back the lobby list. STOP ASKING FOR THAT!"

I have gotten different responses at times. Specially when I submit something very complex or technical regarding ships or weaponry.

As with numbers for clan members, lets also do numbers for friends or block list people. Heh heh...

When Keyvias says something like that, you can believe him. He's super diligent about answering feedback, and we're all lucky for having him as our middle man when it comes to talking to the rest of the dev team
