Hey guys, so the other day I just went about surfing the web, and when I was looking up some GoIO images, I found this:
I know this is from the Development Build (hence the title in the lower right-hand corner), but I must know, what kind of weapon was this? What were its intentions? Or was it a design for one of the weapons we have now?
-
Harpoon maybe? That's the feel I get anyway.

I'l admit that was the initial feel I had off-hand when I first saw the image, but the more I look at it I want to say it was a flamethrower of sorts. Anyways, I'l leave the others to decide what it is.

Flamethrower was my second thought. Maybe some kind of anti-bloon flak?

This is the early Artemis

This is the early Artemis
Huh, I would've never thought that! Thanks for the clarification, BdrLineAzn! :D
EDIT: I guess the more I look at it, I can kind of see where the missle would line up and whatnot. Still, cool nonetheless, would be sweet if Muse ever did a throwback day (a day where the game retains some of its original features, such as differently designed craft, nerfed weapons would be returned to normal, etc.)

lol if the early art was back, it had some seeking if i remember.

I swear that's mentioned in an achievement or tooltip somewhere...

I've looked at some of the early development screenshots, and I do kind of like the designs on the balloons of some craft back then (like the gear wheel in red on the one Galleon).
Did not know there was seeking on the early artwork, though is it actually mentioned anywhere?

Definitely looks like the early missile sling, or Artemis as it's known these days.
-
looked very similar to the mine launcher by how the sling looked like the mine launcher's
But sure I do see that as an art. Though the 4 bolts making a cross confuses me on what it's for. I thought it was the disarming mechanism for the mines.
