Does anyone currently use the clan chat?
Personally I've never really used the clan chat in my SIR days - nor do I do so in Ryders now. While there's often stuff worth sharing the clan (e.g. lobby passwords) and the feature is interesting for cross-match discussions, I still never use it. That's mostly because the clan chat in its separate tab tends to be ignored entirely. I suggest to integrate the clan chat into the match- and perhaps also the global chat. That's where the action takes place and people usually look at.

It also doesn't show when a chat has new messages so more reasons for it to be missed. Nothing to pull attention from the other tabs.

Clan Clan does not use the Clan Chat.

False. I accidentally typed in it once.

Yeah, if we stick to the current 3 window solution, some sort of highlighting of activity in the unselected chat windows would be nice (e.g. display name in a different color if there's an unread message)
However I do believe putting the clan channel into the match chat window would be a better approach. It's what people usually focus on anyway and I doubt a clan message once in a while will clutter up the chat window.

Yeah I made the thread (or at least long post) about it some time ago. No one cared.
But sure, just an icon which changes colour when message on clan chat appears, that'd be great.

All that needs to be done to turn it into an awesome feature is remove the tab, make it work exactly like party chat, and colour the text spring green. People complained about it being practically unusable in its current state as soon as it was added to the game - the devs acknowledged the critique but haven't touched it since.

I made JubJub type the lobby passwords in clan chat once - the rest of the clan complained they can't find it.

I typed in it once to try to get people's attention. it didn't work.
if Clan chat worked liked party chat...

I'll occasionally quack in clan chat. Then again I'll quack anywhere.

We put lobby passwords in there. We tell people first of course. Because no-one checks there.

I can confirm this statement. If they're going to leave the Clan Chat tab/feature in, they should at least have the tab flash when something new was entered into it. But I do agree with the aforementioned idea of just having Clan Chat be like Party Chat.

What I would love is for it to transition into an offline message platform for clan messages.

what I'd give for offline messaging for private messages...would be good for clan messages too.

I posted a password in clan chat for a Cake event I setup today. That was the first time that I have used it.
-
+1 for making it like party chat. I'd use it all the time, then. But at it's current stage, it's pretty useless

One person voted yes -
but no one replied to what they wrote in the clan chat.

Maybe if the clan chat box lit up- or the player was notified (like with pms) then it would be more useful.
Are clans even big enough to need a clan chat?
In other games guild/clan/alliance chat was used for general game discussion (what does this do, how do you like this, how much does x item cost etc.), or to ask for help, or find others to play with.
Does goio as a game really need this? That I am unsure about.
I think it could be good for clans that dont use a voice chat program, e.g. skype or mumble. But only if players check it more regularly or are prompted to do it by notifications.

Some are probably too big - Heck, Ryder is a relatively small clan c.40 people and often we don't sit in the same mumble channels because of information overload, I can't imagine how it could be for some of the other clans with member counts in the hundreds. I don't think notifications are the way to go. If it worked exactly like party chat - it'd be awesome.

Spring green text - duh.

I like blue. The color, not the player. Actually, the player too.

+1 for spring green

I've been told spring green is the in colour for cakes this season.
I like this idea.
-
oh oh, does this mean we'll see a cake clan clan clan clan war for color rights?
-
We'll probably hold back until you can dye the color of flames.

Anyone e-mailed about it to Muse?

Anyone e-mailed about it to Muse?
Yeh I did about 5 months ago - they said they'd look at improving the chat...
Shall we send them some more?
-
I e-mailed it and Howard said he added it to Trello.
