Hi! I'm Logic, leader of The Bards!

Some info about us: We were born out of a love for music as [MUS] or Musicians n Groupies about half a year ago. Our Sensei and founder, DJ Tipz n Trix recruited all of the early members through his debonair attitude and fine beats. We slowly accumulated our early membership, and everyone knew everyone in our tiny clan. Eventually we started growing, as more people wanted in to our little musical group, so the first officers were born. Today, we are The Bards, and we still try and know get to know everyone in the clan. We have a sizable pool of both new players who want to learn, and veteran players who love to teach.

What we like: Music! We all love music! Whether you're a musician or a listener, we're right here, jamming along next to you. One upon a time, The Bards would play music in lobbies and on ships to spice things up, but currently our policy is either ask first or stick to party chat. We have several DJs who are fully equipped for piping our own songs into the game's voice chat, at a reasonable and comfortable volume, for the GoI community's listening pleasure. The DJ list and specialties can be seen on Page 2 of our in game clan page. The second thing that is super important to us is politeness! We have very a low policy for toxicity and abusing the playing of music. We want to be a friendly clan, and not one that scares people off. We pride ourselves of friendliness and helpfulness when it comes to just about everything.

Competitive play: Currently we are allied with Star Bubble Epidemic as StarBard, and the team currently doesn't really have any openings. But the future totally allows for other opportunities competitively. For the most part, though, we are a casual clan. We base absolutely zero on skill level when it comes to recruiting. And on that note,

Recruiting: So, you think you got what it takes to be a Bard, eh? Well... you're probably right. Our 2 Rules are: Love music and Don't be a jerk. That's really all. Whether you're a complete noob or an experienced player, we'll have you!

Why you should join:A few things, I suppose. We're very active, for the most part. Our core players are on nearly every day and we're super friendly too. Questions or comments or conversations waiting to be had are what we love. All of our core members are super approachable and nice. We're a great group of friends. If you're a new player, we have plenty of people who can either show you the ropes, or get into some more technical techniques. If you're more of a seasoned player, we offer basically the same thing. All members have access to the wonderful community that is us. We try our best to make friends with all of our members, no matter the skill. Like, I know a lot of clans say they don't care about skill, but literally, we don't at all. We just want you for you :D (and the award for cheesiest docks post goes to)

How to join: Either put a post here or approach one of our officers in game. In your post, please include something. Like, literally anything. If you want, your favorite musician or band. That'd be cool. You could also say why you want to join. That'd make me feel pretty rad. Thanks for reading this unprofessional piece of dribble :P

For sure! We have a lot of European players, so timezones are odd, but we'll find a time for you, for sure. I'll be around tomorrowish in the afternoon I'll make sure we bump into each other

I've got a love for all things electronica with the exception of dubstep. '60s through '90s rock is my bread and butter (i say that as if I do anything else other than listen to it.) There's not really something I object to listening to, I can cope with music I'm not a fan of.

I've researched a lot into being a good gunner as well as dabbling in the other classes. I know you aren't supposed to drink the chemspray save for that one time, and not to poke the balloon with various pointy bits. I'm not super perfect amazing with every gun but I know what ammo to use and what not.

I guess the foremost reason for wanting to join The Bards is that I can see you all have a fun-loving and close knit community and I like that. Plus, fun is a must. I like chatter with people, friends and fun and all that jazz.

I really like your attitude and would like to join your ranks and conquer the skies together. :D

I'm a somewhat intermediate player. A decent grasp on the mechanics, but far from veteran, due to time contraints. I'm mostly playing engineer, but can assist with the other roles if needed. I really prefer voice-chat to typing and would also gladly use teamspeak if you have that.

For what it's worth, I'm a hobby DJ (occasionally in clubs or at parties) playing mostly Electro-Swing atm, but used to play various genres depending on where I was (Charts, Electro, Dubstep, DnB/Neurofunk). I'm not stuck on EDM, so I also enjoy Australian hip-hop, certain rock and metal bands, classical music and many other things. What I want to say is, I'm a music nerd and would probably fit well with your crew. :D

One caveat I have to add is, that my playtime fluctuates pretty wildly. Some weeks I might be online almost every day, some weeks you won't see me much at all. Hopefully this is not too much of a problem.

My music tastes are quite well rounded: I like every Nightcore, and also love rock, classic rock, alternative, metal, heavy metal, some pop, and the list kind of goes on a little more. I can be a little anti-social, but once I get to know people, I tend to be a kind of animated person.
Why I would like to join: My whole life I've played games solo because my brother never really had time to play with me. I recently joined Guns of Icarus, and loved how the community was so awesome and welcoming to new players. So I wanted to be a part of it and bam, I found this.

I play the piano (and I did play the organ for some time, but was forced to quit, since lectures are usually at the same time as the free practice times). Someday I want to switch to the harpsichord and maybe add another instrument (maybe a shawm?).
I primarily hear old music (i.e. Palestrina, Rameau, Telemann, Bach, Handel, Praetorius, Desprez etc), but not exclusively.

I'm 22 and a fresh mechanical engineering graduate. Sometimes I wish engineering were as simple as hitting things with a wrench.

I recently started playing this game and I'm having a lot of fun learning how teamwork works here. I'm looking for a clan that wouldn't mind showing a newbie the ropes and takes time to have fun. As for music, I'm into jazz, classic rock, and anime theme songs.

Now i do kinda sound pretty selfish and fact is, i just can't write properly, or at least, i have trouble introducing myself...
In short you could describe me as introverted but openminded, I do tend to open up to people as i get to know them luckily enough.

But one cannot be a bard without a taste in music!
I prefer Celtic Metal, Anime, Rock, Rap, Orcherstra and i could keep writing on and on, if i knew more of genres in English.

first off, i am terrible at writing these kind of application thingy-mcgoo's so excuse me if this message will be a little bit weird.
well...... i haven't played guns of icarus for long but i really like the game and it's community, a good community is rare these days.
currently playing as a captain and i have mostly used the junker and a little bit Galleon as vessels to sail the winds (and mostly gettting shot at)
i really like music but mostly instrumental, i like almost every genre of music with the thought that every genre has good and bad music.
i am a bit shy at first but when i get along with people... well.... expect some terrible puns, references and me being a jolly old idiot.
uhm.. i am 19 years old atm, i live in the Netherlands, my in-game player name is Raiho and as i said at the begining of this message (flashback) i was searching for a clan with friends, their in-game names are Nuada and Kapi_k

I have a few things I wish to discuss based on information I have received :-[

First and foremost;

Officers can add members to the clan.
The new application system does not prevent you. The primary aim of the application system is to gain an understanding of people we do not know. Much like a job application or a CA application.

Secondly, I have heard rumors of bards telling new players they cannot join the clan due to limited experience and or time played. One such example including a player who has had the game a week.

We accept all forms of players and personally, I wouldn't want to be part of a clan who did not.
We're not elitists, we are a community of people therefore we accept one and all, regardless of skill, music tastes and et-cetera.

if a player asks you about applying - please refer them to the application form and officers. Both of which can be found on the Clan Page.

I still play music for everyone when they want it and even my profile says I retired. I was in The Bards way too long to betray them.

Frankly, if Clan Tags were like Titles, I'd keep both and interchange between them.

I simply retired because it was getting upsetting being the only bard online in my timezone a lot of the time with all the other UK bards no longer playing the game. :'(

But now that I have come up with that amazing suggestion, I need to write an email!
