Hey Everyone,
As everyone probably knows we are implementing a clan system. This means that your name and tag will be safe from any interlopers, but to make sure the correct clans get their name and tag we want to lock you into the system before anyone touches it.
I will be contacting the leaders of the clans I have listed and getting them to confirm their clan's name and tag. These can be changed in game, but we want to make sure on day one you get the tag you've been using for a while now.
My current list of clans (taken from Sunderland's amazingly curated list.) If any of these names, tags, leader info is incorrect please let me know. You do not have to be a part of the clan to comment on their status.
If you are a part of these clans and your listed leader is not correct please let me know either by email (keyvias@musegames.com) or on this post.
If your clan is not listed please list it for me and I will make sure you will be contacted as well.

Hmmm... The e-mail has the wrong information compared to here. I sent you a PM about that. This does appear to have the correct info, though.
I'm currently the leader of SMAC, not Spasmic Monkey. The MIT clan idea was a bit of a failure, so I'm dropping that.
So, where can I read up on the details for how the clan names work. I've been out of the loop for a while because of school. Do officers have the ability to let people into the clan, can they kick people out? Can an office be revoked? Can the leader and officers see who is in the clan so if a rogue officers lets in some stray dogs, we (leaders or other officers) can solve the problem?

General silly question for the mass public: Once this new clan system goes into effect, I understand that each clan may only have 1 leader (for all intensive purposes), and that members have to be invited in by that leader. That being said, can you be apart of multiple clans? Or is it the case of when you accept one clan invite, you're locked into it until you leave, or are kicked out?

Just "Suicidal Maniacs and Crew" is fine.
I always loved it when people guessed what the name stood for and we would respond with random acronyms, but I suppose those days are no more.

Medic, bladestorm contacted me over email and listed himself as the leader. I'll let you guys talk out who has final powers. Inside the clan there can be multiple officers who have leaderlike powers, but only one leader.

Well blade created the clan, so yes he would be the leader. Just wasn't sure if we were registered yet

We are indeed The Bully Boys.
After consulting with them, my clan-mates have graciously re-affirmed me as leader.
However, we are going to use this opportunity to change our clan-tags from BFS to TBB. Initially we used BFS as that was what everyone knew us as. Then we used it to distinguish the BFS part of the coalition from the Haven part. Now that Haven is no longer part of the Bully Boys, and we are looking to make multiple teams, we would like the tag TBB to be reserved for us.

I second what Tropo said, thank you so much for putting this much effort into such a seemless transition between patches, especially one like this which concerns so many organized players (clans).

that was for existing and established clans before the patch, so the clantags would not be snatched.
now you can just create your clan by going to the community hub.
