The Cogs league is based quite fittingly on cogs. There are several different rotating cogs, each containing several teams. The top cog holds the #1 seeded team, the second cog the next three teams, the following cog the next few, etc. Each week, the lowest-seeded team from a cog plays the highest-seeded team from the cog below it. If the team from the lower cog wins, it breaks into the cog above. After the weekly games, each cog rotates. This means that another team will go to the bottom of the cog, another will go to the top, and others will take a break, all in a sequential order.

You're in the cog that ranges from position 5 to position 8, I'd assume.

Post by: Swallox on March 12, 2013, 05:59:49 pm: It was tempting to call it #5-#7 actually, but that's a conversation for another time.

Both you (Skrim) and Aqua qualified for the quarter-finals of the Fjords tournament, which is where the seeds come from. However, neither team made it to the semi-finals, where the final four were. Thus: Both Ophelia and Muppets can claim the same seed of #5-#7. Technically Crow is a new team, but it felt appropriate to use the previous seed, since both captains qualified in that seed after all.

Don't feed bad though. Muse's seed is WAY worse.

The Seed doesn't represent your final position on The Cogs either, just your statistical place amongst the other teams based on previous events. I'm not looking forward to the math next time around, by the way.

What the hell is wrong with you;- last time you did I thought I made perfectly clear I never even been asked to join;- and certainly never gave the impression I wanted to. Last time it was a misunderstanding between you and Lockheart;- who both thought the other person had contacted me - this time I'm just genuinely aggrevated

I barely ever spoke to you;- I've never been asked to join or gave some sort of reason to believe I was going to, I have talked to and played with Captain Lockheart a few times and he's never asked me to join;- and I made perfectly clear to him last time you boldly just put me on his ship that I'm looking around to see where I can go and want to go.

That's it. End of line. You can't just take peoples names and add them to your ships to get your team assembled;- it doesn't work that way.

I took it privately to you and Lockheart last time this misunderstanding happened and just my friends who were genuinely wondering why I joined you because I didn't really think it was anyone elses buisness and I didn't feel like putting someone in place over it publically;- but now I am genuinely aggrevated and annoyed and I want you to stop

Cold, you can't just add people to your list and hope they'll go with it. That's not how this works. I appreciate that you're eager to get involved, but please make sure that you can field a full team of eight willing players. It's not fair to the teams that actually have the numbers and organisation to actually play, nor the spectators. We've already had one dropped newcomer match because of problems like these.

Information to swallow: Natar Ravenclaw has decided to step down from the permanent roster, and act as a replacement due to private and personal reasons.
CFG will be joining my crew replaceing him permanently, and Phoebe will be taking CFG's spot. We feel like this was the best solution to our problems.

The whalers have been removed from the rotation until you can confirm your entire roster. Usually the process is based on trust in the captains but you've already proven unworthy of that trust, so we have to play things safe this time.

To confirm your entire team, I'd like you to create a forum topic in this board and have all eight members of your roster post in it, confirming their participation. Again, ordinarily this wouldn't be necessary, but after posting two (one and a half?) false rosters, I'd like to make sure before I put the Dutchmen into the roster only for half a team to show up and ruin Match 1. It's happened before.

Btw, museosaurus did pretty well, fighting against us. Im sure the time will come, when they will beat you. And im sure they can beat some of the current teams now, if they will play good setups, cause muse now is the most creative team, and takes sometimes some strange builds, while most of the teams prefer to play as safe as possible.

On behalf of the Corvus Marauders team I'm to inform that we have decided to leave the Cogs Scrimmage indefinitely and no longer wish to participate;- with the reasons for doing so at our discretion.

This doesn't mean we cease to exist or stop playing competitively - we're just parting ways and we're going to schedule friendly scrimmages with clans privately and through these forums to still have a semi competitive experience;- we just decided that we no longer want to be part of the Cogs.

Thanks go out to the organisation and those involved taking the effort to stream, narrate and ref and the competing teams we faced;- please do get in touch with us for information on scheduling scrimmages with us and best of luck to everyone remaining a participant.
