I don't have a bunch of well thought out stats, just a random idea.
Impact damage is awesome, and should have the opportunity to be used as a utility. Maybe this wouldn't be the best weapon to use on ships that have very few weapon slots but...
Pellet gun
primary - Impact damage
secondary - ?
Long-Very long range gun, no arming time, projectile based
Shoots small pellets/rubber balls/whatever at the enemy, dealing small quantities of impact damage.
Deals double damage or secondary damage if the enemy ship has a pilot on the helm using piloting tools.
The gun would be an interesting way to knock the arcs of an enemy sniper ship off. Shoot the edge of their ship and turn them so they lose arcs. Shoot a charging pyramidion to slow/turn them. Shoot an enemy pilot who is stressing their ship with piloting tools and watch as your impacts deal extra damage to an already stressed ship.
In the middle of a brawl, knock away the nose of an enemy to get that favorable angle you were looking for.
It wouldn't be about damage, but about stopping the enemy from dealing damage to you.

I like this idea, it could be interesting to work out whether it works well with mines, to knock people into them!
Was wondering if you thought it would be a light or medium gun though

I don't think we should be able to target the crew of another ship. GOI is less vitriolic than other gaming communities because there is no game mechanic that lets you single out an individual to attack.

Woah, this would not be targeting the crew. This is targeting the ship, trying to disrupt its arcs using weapons fire at range. Unless you mean the note about dealing extra damage if a pilot is using tools. That might be a concern. I just know that I abuse my tools, and it gives me a large advantage over ships that don't use tools as often. My pyramidion can keep arcs on a squid almost constantly by using tools. A squid using this would make me think twice about using tools to keep arcs.
It would probably be a light gun. I don't see it doing enough damage or being effective enough to be a medium gun. But a medium version that has significantly more impact would be interesting. Imagine a goldfish charging in knocking your ship around. It wouldn't do much damage, but would disrupt significantly.
I would argue that you could use it on mines. Launch a mine then slowly push it towards the enemy using pellets. :D

Just had another idea, if you stick two of them on the front of a pyra, imagine the super rams you could do with them! This would be very cool indeed :D

If hitting a gun directly, it could have the effect of changing the angle of the gun, or increasing recoil spread for bit.

I still just want a classic cannon that does impact damage, but i like this too.

So...a reversed harpoon that actually lets the enemy ship go where you want it to go?

Rocket harpoon!
Harpoon with rockets built in which ignite when it hits a ship. Adds thrust based on where it hits, moving, turning, or otherwise irritating the pilot of said ship. Explodes after a set time (after fuel runs out, I suppose).
Would have to be a medium gun mount.

Putting a harpoon and a pallet gun on that pyra, total chaoss! ;-)
