Title: Interesting Question #3
Post by: The Sky Wolf on January 24, 2014, 02:43:37 am
If you fell off your ship and had the ability to get yourself back aboard, which method would you prefer? Would you prefer to fire a Grappling Hook Gun and climb back on, or a Steam Jetpack to fly yourself back on? Alternatively you could release your Parachute and land safely so you may wait for rescue.

Safety rope.

All we have safety ropes.
then you get the problem of physics, you run around the ship alot, you would eventually run out of rope length.

Yeah, we're flying fantasy combat airships, carrying an infinite amount of ammo around the ship and repairing complex stuff by repeatedly hitting it, talking about grappling guns and steam jetpacks. I see why physics are a problem.

Don't forget to mention skywhales.

Ooh, a grappling hook would be so cinematic! A jetpack would probably be far easier to implement though.

May I tell you that this is not the pit, and worshipping cathulu might be not the smartest thing to do here.

As I succesfully translated your words back to commen english, yes i do think that grapling hooks would look cool.

I'd prefer falling all the way down and make a gruesome animation at the end depending on what you hit on the way. Then people would prob not fall so much and some would be like lemmings over a cliff.

I don't think that will happen though.  :(

My biggest problem with the GoI forums is all the queer inside jokes involving many of the very regular people I've come across.. No offense to anyone.

Also too many hats.. cakes.. skywhales.. anime.. comic book.. and star trek/star wars references for me.

How is any of this a bad thing? xD

Also I'd like to get back up by climbing something like an old wrecked ship or a building or something from the map I'm at so that my capt can get our ship close and I can jump back in :)

Is this the point at which we summon Rethburn? No? Well fine....

Also, secondary boat bay, never want to land your ship where it could be stolen, so why not a launch right?

Somebody mentioned sky whales, I have an obligatory look into the thread.  And I say harpoon guns are rescue guns!  Harpoon your crew to safety!

Oh my..... That can only go well. -thinks back to how well it went in Red Dwarf-
Mildly obscure reference aside - Really?? I don't want a harpoon going through my leg every time I turn around on the sideguns of a goldfish, turn to move away and fall down one of the little gaps. I do that every match at least once. My body will be more full'o'holes than my enemy ships at this rate!

I just get my consciousness transplanted into a clone that gets dragged out of the storage upon respawn. It's amazing how well clones store under the stairs on the pyramidion when folded up small enough.

Harpooning teammates back aboard could be dangerous. Be sure to wear a helmet and safety goggles while doing so.

I would rather splat on the unforgiving ground and have my consciousness downloaded into a new clone body.
