Title: Helm controls
Post by: GeoRmr on January 22, 2014, 06:34:27 am
So how exactly does a  pilot change the altitude of the ship? I would be sweet to see some kind of lever or foot pedal maybe that toggles up and down when you ascend or descend.

That or replace the helm with one of these =P

I was talking about this the other day... these ships have no collective controls o.o

ewww, altitude and steering controls integrated in the same component? I'd much rather like to see an additional lever or something along the line.
While muse is at it they could consider adding visual an optical feedbacks for balloon controls (e.g. a steam whistle blowing when descending and an oven roaring up at the balloon-component when ascending. Not only would that be be incredibly steampunkish, but could also be used to raise the awareness of engineers for hydro/vent usage.

it should be another lever... they do have some on the balloon but often times the balloon is no where near the helm controls

I canĀ“t see an elevator (or something that looks like it), so... magic?
Or pilot changes the pressure in the balloon.
I like the magic version.

I've said it before, pilots are psychically linked to their balloons, and must project their thoughts to their balloon to adjust altitude. This is why Mobula pilots are so weird. They think upside down.

Red is that why my ship keeps making these weird noises?

No, that is the faeries in your hull, and the hamsters in your engines.

So mobula pilots are Australians?

So mobula pilots are Australians?
Those are actually the normal Mobula pilots. They are already upside-down, so for them the mobula is right-side-up. You can tell if a pilot is Australian if they are a normal pilot flying a mobula, or a weird pilot flying any other ship.

This is all nullified by the pilots who play while standing on their heads. We call them eccentric. They seem to prefer short matches. Something to do with blood rushing to their heads.

The pilots who play with a controller while lying down are eagerly awaiting the ship with balloons on its sides.

... My replies feel like they belong in the Pit.
