Some (me) have suggested that the Valve invitation was a hostage taking ploy to ensure Muse continues to act in Valve's best interest as they make announcements about their new console. In much the same way truces were finalized by leaving one of you children in the care of the other faction, Valve is trying to guarantee Muse won't be in a position to back stab them as they reveal their future plans.

Day9 in his AMA yesterday said the controller looks like a surprised Darth Vader.
