Howard was pretty hyped about some of the short-term changes too. The nonverbal crew command system is coming in the next patch, and the ability to dye clothing is also going to be available to help crew members to stand out more from each other.
Additionally, he was really excited to talk about some new unlocks, specifically books that add more information about lore and gameplay. Players can expect to be able to read about the new factions as well as advanced stats and strats for operating their ship in the next patch.
He also mentioned some big changes to the new-player experience, including beginner tooltips for tasks aboard ship and improvements to the beginner skill and lobby interface. I thought that these were pretty welcome improvements, since Guns of Icarus is a fairly complex game.
While you'll have to wait a little longer for Adventure mode (he estimates June of 2014, though nothing is set in stone), the above changes (plus quite a bit more) will be released on September 16th.

Seeing as how the patch is 10 days away, and the gun hasn't even been put on the dev app for testing, its highly unlikely. Also, funpants has already said it'll be another month.

just to correct ya there i didn't say it'll be another month :P i did how ever imply that i will probably be working on more guns for another month assuming plans dont change! i'm routing for the gun to go in myself this patch. mind you for those concerned with it not being in dev app, alot of folks were busy this last week or so with pax, so there is that.

But...but..what if I get hit by a truck till then? And then I'll never get to see my character in full colors??!! Space bandits kindap me..I mean these things happen every day!! Turn on the news, man!!! Or..or I get eaten by a genetically engineered gorilla!!! Not to mention them pixies...always stealing my shiny stuff anyways.. And...and hackers may decide to stop the internet altogether!! Or even worse: a millionaire a--hole privatizes it!! And he will play with my character??!! Oh no,no...What if a meteorite falls on the Muse building??? A mad scientist discovers the colorless world and forces us to live in it with his evil robotic monsters?? A hamster runs away with the new patch while we are just sitting around here totally unsuspecting??!! A flying cow jumps into my room and chews my monitor to bits and pieces?? I break my fingers and can't press the order button ever again???!! Jane Smith falls into a deep, neverending slumber??? (I don't know how that would affect the whole issue, but I'm sure it will have terrible consequences...) Shink actually hands me a number at his complaint department??!! I mean my dismembered limbs won't be able to play GoI individually, will they??!! Oh, cruel world!! How will I survive this?? :'(

Guys, terribly sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but the patch release date was moved to the 18th.
The dyes are flipping awesome though so it'll be worth the wait.
Also pretty sure the delay is Shink's fault.

Ok...I can do this...just stay calm..all I need is a bit of whiskey...with rum..lots of rum...and a beer--no, make it twenty...some vodka perhaps...and the gin should do the trick...or I'll just fall into a coma for two days...no big deal...should work fine...could be worse..

i wish dyes would work that way T.T and you should be able to buy that rainbow as a cosmetic swag effect. I'd buy it....
also i was so hyped and now i have to wait..... guess it's better for all of us that way, right? :'(

Ok, Muse should have just put Andika in charge of the dye system. That looks amazing, unfortunately the proposed dye system doesn't have polka dots or rainbow dyes. Maybe they'll fix that in the subsequent patch.

Muse seems to be still tweaking the patch a bit last minute so I'm going to guess it's not coming out til end of workday for Muse in about 5 or 6 hours.

just a reminder, when asked all this week Muse has said "this week" rather than giving a date, so its very possible that there won't be a patch today at all.
