Since there seems to be a noticable gap between playing the game and using the forums, post your interactions with forum-goers in-game here.
Last night I played with Capt. Cthulhu and briefly chatted with Helmic who suggested that we argued in the forums somewhere. I don't know what he's been smoking!

I spent quite a while yesterday with Shinkurex on the same ship as me. We were teamed up with Zill and had a whole pile of NAF guys on our team, so we got a pretty long winning streak.

We ended up winning, but I'm still not really sure how. My pilot seemed convinced that the enemy was on the wrong side of the map, and whenever I gave him advice, he said the only two words he knows in English. I'll leave those up to the imagination.

I was happily ripped apart by Captain Smollett some 3 times yesterday :P
Later on I had Mr. Louie aboard my ship, and at some point Ballu as an ally, if I remember correctly.

I played a game with Dragon soul and we played the dragon tails theme some a lot while zill spectator and ate the opposite of ravioli which I don't know what that is.

I played with HamsterIV, and remain impressed. Great communication, great tactics, all around great game.

I played with Charon last night. His communications were brief but very precise. He knows a lot about how to say the most in the fewest words. He also brought some newbie friends who were very quick to pick up the basics of the game. We ended our first round 5/4 having spend our first few lives teaching the new players the way of the engineer.

Played with Phoebe today. She did a really good job as an engineer, even though she's apparently still learning the ropes.

Played with Sunderland today; who buttered me up with compliments about how I engineer and I pretended to be really good at it too! I'm not going to tell him I probably looked pretty decent because it was our team ship that was constantly under attack and all I had to do was hammer our hull to look busy :D

Actually, Phoebe, we were taking some pretty substantial damage there, and you kept it going. The only times you let us down were when we went into 2v1s (but nobody can really handle a 2v1). If you can keep a ship going like that now, then you'll be an awesome engineer in the future.

Well one thing I figured out on my own which might have been useful is that when you use a spanner to rebuild the hull;- you can actually play with your hotkeys to reset the swing timer on the spanner;- thus enabling you to rebuild the hull faster
In my case I'm using a Spanner on hotkey 1 and a Mallet on hotkey 2; and I just do a really fast sequence of : 1, M1, 2, 1, M1, 2, 1, M1 (Which in words would be : Select spanner; click hull to rebuild; select mallet; select spanner again; click hull to rebuild; repeat)
This is probably nothing new and all the vets probably use it but I figured it out all on my own and I was proud of that

Hah! In my defense, my engineering career amounts to ~1/3 my time at the helm. But good find, and we shall see if it indeed works. A salute regardless.

I just investigated the "skip cooldown" bug, because, well, that would be bad. But as far as I can tell, you cannot actually use it to rebuild faster.
What you're seeing is solely a bug with the animation client-side. The time between rebuild hits is independently checked on the server, and that check is not affected by this. In fact, if you watch closely while doing this and are actually doing it fast enough to beat the animation, you'll see that the rebuild meter doesn't actually fill in response to the extra hit.
I'm guessing this was on a Squid? It really does only take about 3 seconds (4 hits) to rebuild the Squid's armor with the Shifting Spanner.

You can use this trick to buff and fix. Switching between buffing hammer and anything else.
This makes it so you hit as soon as you can on both timers.
Oh and I played with TheEnd again, My favorite new gunner.

Agreed about the rebuild trick. Tried it today and while it felt faster, it didn't actually make a difference.
And Phoebe was on a Pyramidion, actually.

Yeah I gave it a shot as well, it felt maybe a tiny bit faster but that was probably just in my head. As so many things seem to be.

Flew with my fellow Duck Captain Smollett yesterday. We spent a whole bunch of matches on his Squid, which really gave me a boost in terms of buffing achievements. I went from needing over 100 buffs to 0. I also got to practice my Sebi-style Squid engineering. Only two more achievements for level 9 engineer.

I Flew with Russian CA Ailen yesterday. He gave the engineering rundown to another engineer on my crew in Russian. We didn't do to well on account of bad lag while trying to maneuver a Galleon through Duel at Dawn. I only know how to say "left", "right", "front", "back", "shoot", "repair" "ballon", and "hull" in Russian. I look forward to Russian training day.

Which ones are you finding tough in particular?

Pretty much all of them because they require me to do things not everyone might agree with.
Like... I hate dissapointing people;- so my incendiary and heatsink achievements are simply idle right now. I can't really manage to get 5 kills in a single match;- destroying balloons seems to be quite tough with the captain yelling at me that I need to target the hull;- I don't find many CP matches going on and when I create one it remains dead.
I imagine a lot of these achievements will sort theirselves after months of playing;- it's just kind of a shame because I already could have completed ones beyond them with more popular to gain goals

By playing for a long time. I spent ages at engineering level 6 because of unnatural achievements.
You can also request that your captain take a pyra if you have the balloon popping achievement. You can be the top deck engineer, gunning and watching the balloon. Find creative ways to work around it.
Buffing achievements are the worst, in my opinion.

I tend to save the awkward Pilot achievements for the occasions when you get one of those crews. Gives you something to do when you're cruising the edges of the map.

Incendiary is good on gatling, but heatsink is essentially useless right now.

Agreed. I need to get three more extinguishes on guns in CP for level 9 engineer. I hardly ever get to play CP, and when I do the other team doesn't use flamers. When they do use flamers, they don't hit the guns. And if they do hit the guns, then the achievements glitch and I make no progress.

Same here. I'm been a level 8 engineer for too long now. And don't get me started on buffing achievements. Buff 150 balloons? What?

^This man has the idea. I do the same thing. I have to rebuild 200 guns. If the pilot likes to do the harlem shake as we're moving into range and then blame the gunner for his hwacha blast going everywhere but into the enemy, it's lochnagar time.

Five kills in one match.. you need a good Social tab. I think Phoebe was (very quietly) on the Red team for a few matches the other night against a mostly Crows and their allies Blue team. At one point we were all (ok, mostly all, we had a couple of language difficulties) setting up one player for their five-kill match. Our ship held fire once we'd weakened an opponent and allowed him to finish them off so he could meet his achievement. And it worked. Took a couple of matches (language difficulties with one of the gunners on our ship) but we got there.
Just make it known when you have one of the really tough achievements - stack a team to get the achievement and keep up good communication so that everyone knows how things are going.

I played on that ship with N-Sunderland and Phoebe. They where both fun to crew with. Phoebe told me to call her "Feebe". Also she doesnt hesitate to talk now. We had a goof time and I do think it was on a Pyra. Salute to you both. :)

Although we haven't won everthying, the matches were superfun, all the three of these guys helpful and explanatory, long story short: moar games like this!

it was actually one of the topics I picked up from the general chat, I think he's getting too much bias from you guys. And since this topic is here to promote friendly and pleasant play, I think it's worth mentioning rather than more trashtalk. :)
(then again, 'tis based on one afternoon of experience, so what do I know)

Based on five months of experience, I have to say that what I've seen differs. If he's helping people out, though, that's great. Good to see him making progress there.

The game with Hamster, We won, but the second I was against him we lost miserably.
I think Hamster is a huge asset to the community. While never having an established crew he gets a constant stream of wide eyed land lovers. He turns first time fliers into very acceptable crew members in only a couple games.
I feel bad for playing against him yesterday and winning a lot. No I don't :D.

I had voice comms with one person on the crew, could hear nobody else and nor could they hear me (weird in itself) - all enemy ships disappeared, we were pointing at a Goldfish which had opposite team colours.. .. .. much strangeness was had that day.

Sounds like a bit of a mess. Don't worry about shooting at a teammate, though. We've all done it before.

Hemlokk, Zormac, and I played against HamsterIV, Sammy B.T., and some third guy in a bunch of really close matches. Anthelios came in after Hemlokk left and NoWuffo was playing earlier with me with HamsterIV on his team.

There was also Sasquatch and Diggity in that match. I admit to bouncing around the ships and teams a bit just so I could crew with Diggity. Sasquatch is a super competent engineer and I always feel safer when he is near the hull.

Today Papa Paradox learned to never put a harpoon on the back of his Galleon when I'm around. I knew very well that I was screwing our turning up, but it was just too much fun to pass up. He helped me get 8 balloon rebuilds towards an achievement, though. That helped a lot. Also crewed with Hizumi and Furrymessiah, who provided hilarity as usual, and had some good times with RyanMZ as well.

Played with Manyak who is Russian and a competent gunner, his English is very good and he knows how to work with a team. We also had techbandit who despite being new made a very good impression. I recommend flying with both Manyack and techbandit should you ever see them online.

I might as well mention here, if you've ever played a match with Zerophobia and me, there is a high probability we are in a LAN-style setup (both in the same room). We happen to be brothers as well as neighbors, and play together quite often.

Haha, tallies count as two per can! And yeah, it's a bit more fun that way, I think. Especially following a bad match, where missed flak volleys and bad hwacha shots replay in your mind over and over.

I flew with Charon and Shukketsushi together over the weekend. I had flown with each of them individually in the past, but this was the first time I saw them in action together. Our ally captains were complaining that we were getting all the kills as we turned the Capture point on desert scrap into a meat grinder.
I also had some pretty awesome games with Wazulu, Cul, and Varuuu. Including one where we sling shotted a spire into a rock wall. Good times all.

According to Rethburn I'm famous, he was with me on the endless Anglean raiders maps along with a bunch of others, our Japanese CA as well who I think I embarrassed by pronouncing my undying love for.

On a good night I get on about 5:00pm PST and can play till 7:00pm PST when I make dinner, then I come back on around 8:00 and go till 11:00. That is if I am feeling it, some nights I just browse the web and go to sleep. Sorry about getting angry, it is unfortunately a regular occurrence. I am normally pretty mellow, but something about an uncooperative crew member gets my dander up.

Flew with a good crew today during Training day. My hats off specifically to Inque (pronounced like ink). He has the makings of a great gunner, and is very communicative. I would recommend him for anyone's ship (so long as it's not against me :P)

Flew with Twinkie today. He's good to be with as usual, but I joined the ship he was on in rather weird circumstances. I also flew with Zeb Jamison, but the teams were pretty dumbly stacked in the other side's favour. He was awesome to fly with, though.

I played with two Newcomers earlier this week and thought they'd be worth mentioning. Simply named "Nick.", he played a very good pilot on a goldfish and was able to communicate well and maneuver even better. After ten minutes of training he was calling targets and guns.
Razu was another. He was playing a very well done engineer, and was great on a gun. He was able to listen well and communicate back. Take either of them on your crews!

Today I played with Lord Dick Tim, MrEleven, Lius, and quite a bit of others. Three matches in particular were rather amusing for me though.
1.) Turned a game around in Canyon Ambush completely, great come back.
2.) Proving that Captineering works, and I have Tim as proof ( ;) )
3.) A match I just got done playing. Had a great crew that was working perfectly in sync. Although we lost. We only died once, but being able to stay alive just goes to show how well he crew did. Thank you all!~

I played with Sgt. Spoon for the first time ever today. It was great to be on a ship with him, but he only got to see me in
suicide pilot mode, which certainly isn't my strong suit.

This guy is the, hands-down, absolute best pilot I have ever seen. This guy not only has me winning games left and right almost solely on his flying capabilities but has also kept my gaming nights thoroughly entertaining. He keeps me laughing like no other, almost homo. I want him to pilot for me every time I play this game because I can't stand any other person's flying tendencies(except maybe dragonmere but this is not the point I am making). Who wants to be with a pilot that just barks out a "left side guns" every minute? I don't. I want a spongebob impersonating, sh*t-talking, bad*ss motherf*cker like Wuffo. Have you ever thought you were doing okay landing 75% of your shots? Wuffo won't. He expects greatness from each and every soul walking onto his ship. He will also force you to pray to the plants on the ships at one point each night. Ok maybe that doesn't happen every night. But he does like that there are plants on every ship in this game. If you are ever looking for a good pilot, greenname "NoWuffo" and shoot him a message in game and tell him Mathematical sent ya. Be sure to tell him I say hi.

I've been playing a decent bit with AtmosDefiler the last few days. He's only been playing for five days, and his engineering is better than what I've seen from a lot of level 9s. He already knows prioritization, parkour, and minor vs. major repairs as if he was programmed to play this game. Unbelievable stuff. Definitely one to watch.

As I read about all these people that many of you have play with, I'm shocked that I don't see anything about one of the best pilots I have had the privilege, nay I dare say pleasure to crew for, Dragonmere. Dragonmere, or Dr. Agonmere as many of us come to know him as, is a blast to crew for. Be it repairing the hull or manning the guns on his favorite and soon to be most feared ship in the game, the -COx- Teamwork. Many a night Dr. Agonmere has flown me to victory through his sheer skills as a pilot. But for all those who believe he is a god among men I say to you no, he is not. Though he is a great pilot, 10/10 if there ever was one, his one true bane is... the rocks. If he sees it, he hits it. The true question is this... does it matter? No, it does not, he kills all those whom fly against him.
On a side note, Dr. Agonmere and I are also duck hunting partners in real life.

Played with Hizumi, he was gat-mortar squid, I was double flame squid. And we played against some newbies.
Hizumi and I played a rather silent divide-and-conquer--me having no mic. Mostly burning out balloons of one ship until they fell away only to turn onto the next ship Hizumi was hazing and burn out their hull.
Eventually, after three rounds, the newbies on the other team were able to communicate!
They grow up so fast =3

I played wi lots of people in a heavily spectated match today.
When Captain Roy and I lost our spire captain, who was kinda the point grinder :( we gained a morbie and sailed onto victories over meta pyramidions with squids, galleons and goldfish.
The shock and horror of those poor players when the odds where so terribly stacked against them with our awesome gunners and engineers.
I also had a space whale on my ship, he does not know how funny that is to me.

I had the honor of flying with Pechka, Kibutsuri, and Gorath. Fine crew all. Gorath put a lumberjack shot on a Galleon who was on the south side of the Canyon, from the north side of the Canyon. With the exception of a shot Zuka Esrai put on a moving squid at medium range it was the finest piece of Lumberjack work I have witnessed (from the giving end).

In continuing the tradition of Japanese people being awesome at this game, I played with two level 3 engineers: ton-cha and nanamin.
I was a gunner and the pilot dropped, so I decided to pilot. These guys are un-fucking-real. I speak a little Japanese, but their crew coordination in both languages is on board with level 9s or 8s. Seriously, I was VERY impressed. Also we won with a flakfish comeback from 0-2, scoring 3.5 of the kills.

Had several good matches with David Hark, who's been helping me rack up Lochnagar kills.
Also got to fly with N-Sunderland, who proceeded to taunt Cul by not allowing him to hear his voice in chat for a few rounds. Cul's reaction when he did hear him was priceless.
Some new players, ghost-like and Zalzomel were on my crew and did really well, both have mics and I'd be glad to fly with them again.

Last night was pretty mental while playing with Zill, Shink and Sunderland. We had some pretty close matches (Zill Shink v. Timmy Sunderland) but most of the time they beat us out by a point or two. Think we managed to win twice but overall we all had a great time.

In my defense, I only occasionally play with a competent engineer on my ship. Usually I just shoud "Watch my engines". (unless I have a Sunderland on my ship Goldfish and Squids do actually need more than one engie to keep them above half usually).
I guess I'll start working out the finer points of engineering before I dump in the kerosene!

By the time you've explained that you handle it alone, one of your crewmates has already ruined the cycle with a mallet.
In my defense, I only occasionally play with a competent engineer on my ship. Usually I just shoud "Watch my engines". (unless I have a Sunderland on my ship Goldfish and Squids do actually need more than one engie to keep them above half usually).
I guess I'll start working out the finer points of engineering before I dump in the kerosene!

I flew with Captain Roy today, for I think the first time ever. Probably one of the finest matches I've ever seen. And Bubbles left before he could see our amazing turnaround victory. Anyways, he's an awesome person to fly with and I have to do it more often.

Dropped in on a duck lobby last night with Squash, Charon, Jace Boojah, Fightboy Vash, Kpenguein, Smollett and a bunch of other names from my Green list. I was on the loosing side every match, but was only shut out once. Given the company, I think I did well for myself.

Played with Frogger, captains, he had a Galleon, me on a Squid with my crew on Dunes, it was my second time flying a Squid ever and we did pretty well, I scouted the enemy and annoyed them while they rained death long range from their ship. It was fun, I think I'm in love with the Squid now.

I've played with a lot of these guys, or against them. Whether my team shut you down, you shut my team down or it was a close match I'm sure we all had fun. Which is what it's all about.

Was a bounty same weekend as Plasma. Agreed, it was a lot of fun. Also a good way to fill up games and get some challenging matches. Thanks to all who defended my honor last weekend.

I did a tolerable job front combat engineering on a Junker with Sunderland and a few Ducks.
That is, once someone showed me how to hit the hull from the front without jumping.

We got a little overconfident and disorganized in the middle of the Canyons game, and you guys exploited it.
We kept sending Cullen out there to distract you while we took on the less organized and slightly worst captained Galleon and Spire.
Wish you could have flown with us, but that Pyra didn't want to leave the Red side.
Oh well, close games are way more fun than shutouts.

Played with Smollet today, gunning on his Spire with a Carronade/Mortar/Gatling loadout, brough some Loch and Heavy for some heavy duty Blenderspire action, it was brutal.

Played with one of the legion of Letus today. Never seen anyone be that effective as a captain using only the in-game chatbox.

I just wish I could remember all the names of crews I play with.
I play the game real casualy, pop in for an hour or so a few days a week, I enjoy playing with randoms, see what folks I get to fly with now.
Mostly becouse for the better part I seem to get amazing crews, or at least people who manage to figure out how to work as a team after a few matches and start to do amazingly well.
Hard to describe the feeling of satisfaction when pulling off wins-that-should-not-be with the gunner that does not talk but somehow follows your target and does not miss a single shot, the OCD gungineer that seems to be able to teleport between the guns and engines and offcourse the main engineer who seemingly can peer into my mind and starts directing the other guys when things go tits-up and I REALLY need to focus on not parking us into that mountain for once.
Hats off to the playerbase, it's so rare to hop into an online game and not worry about peoples attitudes. Sure a few rotten apples here and there, but for the most part the folks I find are a real joy to play with.
So a big thank you to all you total strangers, for being awesome and for giving me enjoyable evenings on a regular basis.

Last patch I think. Muse added a bunch of "social" features like clan tags, party system, and I recent player list. In all honesty I have been using that tab more to black list ineffective pilots and crew who rage quit mid game. If you use it to build your friends list, I guess you are a nicer person than I.

I played with Spud Nick and Astronomy Goon last night. Spud Nick showed off his Mobula build which was quite impressive. Also we had a gunner named Takei Naodar who managed to land some very impressive long range mortar shots. Good times all round.

I played with Voidzone, Comrade Ivana, and Dingkey two nights ago. We seemed to work well together, joking as we rammed into people. Void was excellent at keeping my engines alive and buffed (No small task as I was burning kerosene, moonshine, and claw...sometimes all at once) and Comarade and Dingkey were commendable with their shooting. We didn't lose a single game that night, even when switching to Mobula and Squid. Fun times all around.

Coldcurse and RainerZuFall totally saved my butt earlier in a match where in my first engagement I simultaneously lost my main engineer and the fabulous captain of my Heavy Flak Goldfish.
Wound up turning an 0-4 match into a victory.

I played with James T. Kirk, offensive mining, offensive mining everywhere. Well that and I also flew a gold fish with a lumberjack on top, we lost that match because of our ally but we managed 4 kills that round.

I played quite a bit of matches with Shukketsushi as my main engi, every single match went well (we won every match), didn't die a single time due to a wonderful job done by Sushi, was good to fly with her :)

A big shout-out to a couple of mid-game joiners from a couple of nights ago.. ******* for thinking it was a good idea to join mid-game as second gunner on a Junker, and ***** for joining mid-game as a buffing engineer (to complement my two Gunners).
On a positive note, after they left we fought back from 4-2 down to gain a close 5-4 victory. For which I'd like to thank evodoc and Sir Hemming, who later joined and held it together magnificently. Unfortunately my original Gunner left just before the midgame joiners did, which was a shame as I can't remember who he was and he was doing a good job.

Had Rutger Shaw, Garou and Humacius on my squid a moment ago. I've never seen anyone take to my crazy offensive mine launcher build so quickly. Had heaps of fun as a result of having a brilliant crew.

Many moons ago, back when the lobby news said something like "Please make TGS welcome" (for the youtube TGS battle) I played a game against SoTotallyToby (http://www.youtube.com/user/SoTotallyToby). I was pilot and named my ship KillToby (inthelittlewood (http://www.youtube.com/user/inthelittlewood) usually asks viewers to type #killtoby into the comments when they do videos together), and there were a bunch of people typing #killtoby into chat.
Anyway, we beat Toby and I have never seen him playing since :'(.

I played with B'Elanna, Ramjamslam, Tropo, and Yolo yesterday with my first real times playing as a pilot. There are others I'm forgetting at the moment, and I'm sorry for that. They stuck out the nonstop 5 hours I was piloting with great patience, no complaints, and overall made it so much fun… I love ya guys!

I flew with Sammy on his junker yesterday. Taught me a few things about gunbuffgineering and was possibly the most laid back person I've flown under, even making us do 'pew-pew' sounds when we shot :P

I flew on YoloSwagJesus' ship yesterday and even had Spud Nick crewing with me for a time. It is a little weird being on the same crew as someone you are used to captaining with or against. You keep expecting the conversation to be tactical as opposed to immediate ship emergency. I miss having access to the captain comm channel especially since the way we were maneuvering there was obviously some plotting going on at the higher level.

It's always fun to hear people trying to pronounce the names of my ships.
Like Bucintoro being called "Bachintouru" or the Cacciapesca "Cacchìapeska".
One time a player that spoke Italian but wasn't italian himself wrote "I KNOW WHAT THE NAME OF THAT SHIP MEANS! IT'S HUNTING PEACH", referring to the Cacciapesca... Nice try, but it was hilarious! :D
All my ships are actually named after venetian boats, the cacciapesca being the small boat for hunting and fishing in the lagoon. Seemed appropriate for the nimble Squid. But most people probably only recognize the Gondola...

I missed this thread starting out so I'm going to try and make up for lost time, flown with Mr Rimmer recently and was a great few matches!Gryphos also, back in flotsam, a big thanks to trying to help us get through that in our first week of playing! Kyren also was a big help during flotsam! Been having a great time also flying with Brick Hardcastle and his Bully Boys! Lastly it was interesting to say the least flying with Keyvias in the devgame with the design team last week!
If I left anyone out I'm sorry, I'm simply pulling folks from my steam friendslist. It has been a blast flying with the lot of you!

And after trying to kill them both for nearly 5 days i finally got a good teammate and managed to get my first bounty points :D

I played with Phelan, Wundsalz, Sprayer and General Cusell (sp?) briefly last night with a few random players and didn't have a particularly good run, thanks in no small part to the terrible lag I was having (something I haven't suffered from in a long time), piloting badly and running alt builds. At one point on Northern Fjords when I was flying a squid the game hung for about 10 seconds before spitting me out half way across the map. Needless to say it was horrible and hugely distracting so after that I quit. When I rejoined later on I didn't have any more issues and managed to play some good games for a couple of hours with a few familiar names (lukewin, SirVanceALittle and CustardInc - hi!).

Just met Forrest Tollen in-game, and played a few matches with him. Nice to see a voice actor being so enthusiastic!
Also had Thomas on our crew. I've got to say, it's not that often that I find other engis who I'm able to work in perfect synergy with right off the bat, but Thomas is one of those. We had an epic time keeping our Galleon together up against the combined fire of two mercs, a lumber, and a Squid. I can't believe that today was the first time I've crewed with him.

I played with ZOO the other day. I wanted to shoot mines so he flew the ship for me. We were able to fight off two ships at once thanks to the mines and his fancy flying. Mines are so much fun!

I met Captain Roy last night.
He seemed quite happy to hear a couple of us new people on mic, and even happier to hear that we were enjoying the game veyr much. He was very accomodating to the crew who asked if he'd show them how to Captain a ship, and brought along his (novice mode) Goldfish. When he joined the game, he'd been part of the same crew I was on, but he switched to the other team when asked. I got the pleasure of setting his ship on fire with a flamer and soon afterwards, I was running around like a lunatic putting out fires when he did the same thing to the ship on which I was playing Engineer.
Good times.

I played with Captian Smollet. He puts my goldfish piloting to shame.
Still, I was able to redeem myself in fords. With some tense cat-and-mouse dogfights against his carronade goldfish with my carronade goldfish. Things were getting real low. Airships do not sail on water.

Ran into a couple of crews of [Duck] people tonight. GGs, sorry for being very drunk and crashing into things. My crew of level 1 randoms got some good laughs out of it, and in spite of losing every time we fought against you guys, I think we held up reasonably well. It was an enjoyable learning experience :D

I feel that makes it too sour. I am not a super huge fan of whisky, but I feel any drink where my lips pucker while drinking is not something for a summer's night.
I'd prefer something you can drink large gulps of that is instantly chilling.

I played with an "i am leon" tonight. Level 1 gunner joining my ship. I checked his stats and he hadn't played any games. But he had played the tutorials, so he had that going for him.
I ask if it's his first match to test the waters. He says yes. So far so good: he responds. The match is close to starting so I offer to show him about my ship when the match starts.
We start the match and he doesn't seem to have a mic, but he responds to me when I talk to him. I show him up the ladder to my front right Pyra gun - a carronade. I tell him to load in the ammo with crosshairs (I checked his loadout beforehand) and stay on that gun and shoot balloons.
We go an entire match taking down balloons, stranding ships, and ramming them into the ground with beautiful coordination.
i am leon, you probably aren't on these forums yet, and maybe you won't be so friendly in future matches, but I played with you and it made me glad I got to fly you to victory for your first match.

I flew under the command of Cold Curse for the first time over the weekend. He killed an enemy squid by backing over it with a galleon. He also killed a friendly squid by ramming an enemy pyramidion into it in the same match. He tried to convince the server that shooting a flamethrower off the back of a galleon will make it fly faster and made me apply the "afterburner" when moving between two points on Raid on the Refinery. He was convinced at one point we were playing a fishing simulator and the objective was to to harpoon a ship named Salmon. My conclusions of this player is that he is a highly unstable individual and I would fly with him again in a heartbeat.

Played with LeonXRoss this morning. He saved my day. Seriously.
Was introducing a friend of mine to GoIO in his TZ, not mine, so my friends list was offline. Which meant that MM gave us level 1-1-1 pilot after lvl 1-1-1 pilot. After an endless parade of trying to convince pilots that a gat/merc pyra wasn't as awesome as it looked, we eventually got a high level captain. Who disconnected right when the match starts. I understand, shit happens. No hate. Next match we get another high level captain; who subscribed to the "verbal abuse is training" school of thought and was unable to grasp that half his crew was new, still needed simple concepts explained to them, and perhaps would perform better if he explained instead of yelled. FYI, in case you didn't know this, mashing the "MAN FORWARD GUNS" audio button over and over again doesn't extend the range of my weapon. Perhaps that doesn't sound that annoying, but I was pretty frayed by the rest of my morning.
I enjoy training new players, but at this point I was done. Instead of exercising teamwork, I had spent a session fighting bad luck and shitty personalities. But my buddy wanted to go for another round.
And we got LeonXRoss, whose competent captaining, pleasant personality and ease of conversation saved my day. We got in a couple of matches before we all had to go, and it was wonderful. I don't remember if we won or loss, I don't care. We worked as a team. The crew taught each other and worked through issues. It was exactly why I play GOIO. Made my day so much better.
As for the MM; I will no longer fly with lvl 1-1-1 pilots. I will quit and play another game if nothing is available. I will not eat shit because Muse allows players who don't know heatsink rounds from a buff hammer to make major, game deciding choices.

Today I flew a Junker with, Scwhalbe, miki and William smith. (the real will smith, can you believe that?)
Sammy joined in with a full duck crew on the 'Admiral Quackbar'
I promptly, changed ships to the same build (give or take a carronade :p) and named my ship the 'Dancing Cake.'
We preceded to go 6-0 down. Only to soar back to a 7-6 victory.
We also found out unreadying makes the time jump from 20 seconds to 80 seconds. who knew? Our co-captain was less than pleased ;D
10/10 would quack with again.

I had intended to post this earlier, however distractions were had (I blame Zill)
I flew a couple games with Docta Drew and Mr The Kid the other day... At first everything was normal, and even though they were fairly new, we were able to buckle down and operate a blenderfish with deadly precision (Special mention to Cadoi my gunner who was also fairly new, but picked up things rather quickly). We were racking up quite a few wins, and were starting to get comfortable with each other's teamwork, when both DD and MTK do something ridiculous.
Paritan takes a bit of time for me to load in (Old work laptop != fast load times in anything), and when I'm finally loaded in, and running to my helm, I'm greeted with this:

I never bothered to look at their loadouts, b/c I knew they were good from the earlier games, and I was too preoccupied to notice their clan changes... when I saw them, I dont think I could've flown for a good minute or two due to the laughter... Well played both of you :))

I played against BdrLineAzn in his Blenderfish, Starlight. I flew with LazyPandas, allison, and Golithies(?), in my Hwachafish, the HMCS Meteor Shower. Map was Canyon Ambush, had a couple of FIRE members in their Junker, The Collector as an ally. Bdr had the USS Endurance, manned entirely by the same clan. Match ended either 5-2 us or or 5-1 us in a chaotic flamer brawl, the Shower and the Starlight locked in flamer to flamer combat, while our Collector and the Endurance fired on with support. Because Junker Trifecta and the Starlight being badly damaged from a previous scrap, we won. Best match ever. Also a wee bit starstruck. *parties hardcore*

I was lucky enough to catch a game with the Ryders as a teamate. They were in a munker, I was in my triple-artimis junker. The start of the match exchange went like this:
Me: Okay, I'm going to follow you guys.
Ryders: Yeah, last teamate didn't get that memo.
Me(in the most sarcastic voice I could manage): Gee, I don't know, I guess that tagging along with the StormRyders just might be a good idea.
Needless to say we laid waste to the enemy's metamidions. 5-0 Between the disables of the mines and the rockets on the Silversail(my junker), they couldn't do much. But it was fun having to dodge pyras and mines.

And then the fact that they insist on their competitive team being all level 45 as a lame intimidation tactic.

I hope everybody remembers the thing where if some people do something, it still does not apply to everybody. I was not there at the time of this event nor would I condone it as I try multiple times to swap with enemies when there is an obvious lvl stack, but I what I actually want to know, what the thing is that gets people the most: Is it that the clan Rydr itself stacking the lobby or that these members happen to have high levels while stacking the lobby, a lobby which everybody can leave if nobody has the intention of balancing it out? Nobody can say that Rydr was the first to do this, nor will Rydr be the last, and of course that is no excuse to stack the lobby to begin with, but that would not be the question I am asking.
Regarding the obsession with big numbers / Achievement farming: I can't speak for my fellow clan members, but if I cared enough to farm achievements or if I was obsessed with high numbers, I would have been max level on everything months or even a year ago. As far as I can tell people only notice these "farmers" the most, because they otherwise are not of enough interest, and why would they be of interest? A complete stranger that a oneself has no intention of suddenly making friends with can barely be of interest to oneself until they say something that hits a nerve, than they are the root of evil and everything associated with them must be the same. Back to this short topic, there are not nearly enough people in Rydr that are obsessed with big numbers or else you would really see it.
By the way, for the clan commendations to get to that high number it only took the dedication and determination of, I think, two of our members? Nobody forced these upvotes onto anybody, verbally over the internet it is not possible. The thing with clan commendations could be as simple explained as "the basics of marketing advertising".
I would like to act against that "stacking lobbies for achievements" thing, but it is a decision that players made themselves and they also apparantly want to play together, nothing wrong with that. In fact, one could even blame Muse's matchmaker or the low playerbase that does not allow for better balanced lobbies and the players themselves could be blamed for this too, if they really wanted truelly balanced lobbies. I have hundreds of "high levels" added on my friends list and see it everytime in custom matches that they are all scattered in different lobbies, none of them making the effort in creating a balanced lobby by inviting other high levels or waiting for them to finish their game and then join (maybe some of them don't have the time to do so and just want to play a few normal matches instead of organizing only one or none super match, that is ok).
Regarding Mr.Disaster's post that started (unnecessary?) uproar, I would like to state the following for future references: Try not to post negative stuff about people, at least in this thread.
This thread was free of negativity for so long and if it is going to be used to hate on people or an entire clan, which is not a human being, then I would also have a bunch of stories, like many others, to add to this. Examples would be people or a group of people that are in the same clan acting unsportsmanlike by switching ships at the last second (in competitive environment), trolling or generally unable to handle any sort of logical problem solving, hating, harrassing other people and much more, but that, I believe, was never the point of this thread. So let's not start doing that either, please.
If anybody thinks I am wrong or would like to hate more or instead have a simple discussion about it, because it is of their interest, I would invite them to send me a personal message, which can be send to multiple people if a group decides to come together to strengthen their voice. Unless, of course, they deem it as absolutely necessary that everybody sees the continuition of this discussion, I cannot stop them. Normally I would say "make another thread out of this", but I suppose that some forum moderaters would remove it when it comes to personal attacks.

The negativity of Mr.Disaster's post comes from genuine anger - that was unfair. And though I'm not the one to bail out easily, it was a bit too much for my taste this evening. I can fight in a balanced match against Rydr, but FFS, that match lasted, like, 5 minutes.

I can play a match like this once, but twice in a row - nope. Not against two extremely skilled and experienced crews. It sucks almost like killing off new players in a merciless slaughter. I like tough matches, but not unwinnable ones, and that one was like that. With allied pilot having 7 matches or something. Thanks, but - nope.

I'd like to take a minute to defend the Rydrs here.
The Rydrs are currently the best team in the game. Few informed people would disagree with that. They play togther well and have a lot of individual skill. They practice like hell, and they earned all the success they have achieved. I consider a lot of Rydrs friends, not because of their skill, but because of their attitude. They have the ability to turn off "try hard mode" and just play the game. I see Lueosi play games with randoms all the time. He'll just hop into lobbies alone and crew with low level players on a very regular basis. He's the best individual pilot in the game at this point and could have a skilled team to play with in a second. Same goes for Daniel and other Rydrs. They like to play with each other, just like I do and anyone does with their clan. I can't fault them for that and neither can you (you meaning anyone, not any player specifically). Just a few days ago I was in a lobby with 2 full-ish Rydr ships in a public 2v2 on shuffle and they shuffled. It was a good lobby that was super balenced every other game. This happens often.
It's easy to hate a team because they're good. Hell, being on the receiving end of a full Ryder team in competitive events makes me pretty angry from time to time, but don't fault people for playing the game. The Rydrs get more hate for lobby stacking than anyone else, and I don't see why

If you are really that angry, so angry you cannot control whether or not you type with consideration for others, please go vent or something. We are all adults, or can at least act like it, so let's be civil. Anger is fine, but this is not the thread for it. If I am not mistaken, the pit has basically no rules. You can post your anger there. I think. I might be wrong, but I am sure there is somewhere that allows complaints involving people or clans. Wherever that is it is not here, so let's nip this in the bud, before it blows out of control.

I understand your point, though a special thread would be too much of a hassle and would probably get deleted or put into the pit quickly. And that event was the moment when I just snapped saying "Oh, no, you fucking not". Believe it or not, but it was first time I saw something like that and it was even more shameful that (I'm 100% positive) it was a Rydr captain who swapped (that's why I mention it, apart from not remembering exact names). Also, as I said, I'm personally sorry to attack/"attack" Rydr because I have friends from there. (Perhaps now correctly it should be: I 'had' friend in Rydr :D)

As stated above, I'm not jelly because they kicked my ass, I'm angry because they purposively kept lobby highly unbalanced. Also, since it's a large clan you may had a better experience with different players. I also have friend from Rydr that I highly respect, so it hurt even more.
About Rydr getting more hate for lobby stacking - there's a saying that "Noblesse oblige", which means that when you have high position in society/community you should be example for lower classes to follow, maybe not a paragon of virtue, but a decent guy to follow. Rydr is highly respected and skilled clan and therefore any wrong deed from them means more. It's just common knowledge - if a drug addict kills someone the news barely mention it, as a short statement, perhaps a news report. But if a polititian killed someone news would be blabbing about it for weeks.

I'm not insulted, as I know I suck, and Lueosi knows I suck at piloting (pardon, you Mr.Disaster keep reminding me that all the time, but we are friends, and you usually are right about my mistakes). But still it's no reason to do something like Lueosi did, this disappointed me, as that match had chances to be interesting. :(
BUT. This was more an insult for my crew. Quite decent I'd say. And if I fly with them as a captain, this means I... maybe not trust them, not always, but I do my best that they may have fun aboard my ships. And that was a good crew - you, alkomatster and SnaG.

Sorry Logic, I hate leaving loose ends, I'm a pedantic bastard.
I've flown with people from my clan - I teach them in game mechanics, strategy (some are teaching me - WookiKNTG and his Sun-Tzu based wisdom, and his ship analysis) and fly with them to the battle. I usually have fun with them, and despite them being low level players that play rarely and almost exclusively together only (except for Dungal, Hordex and ryedstar [the last one was given by me a list of good and nice people eager to teach something more]).
It's always a pleasure to fly a full KNTG ship with my friends.
But we are not the flaming Ryder - the sum of matches played by people aboard a KNTG ship is below 1000 matches, when I'm a pilot with my 880-something. When we are scrambled into enemy teams, if somehow there is enough of us online to form two crews, we always fly those matches, though it usually ends up a massacre, unless Alkomatster is piloting the other ship - and then it gets really fierce and interesting.

I ran into Richard Lemoon, and I think it was leousi but i might be wrong, in the same game. Might be because I am actually looking for them, but it seems that since this thread was started I have run into more forum users than before. Also, sorry if I misspelt Leousi.

To the above argument: I do support Schwalbe and Disaster's point. Once I formed up with SREP and some Cake buddies to stack a lobby. Across the other team we had this level 14 pilot trying to take a gat mortar squid against our junker and hwacha spire, and his ally's slot was empty. I was fancying to play captain and I thought I'd switch over to the other team.
The two [Cake]s joined up with me The heretics! and it made for a rather tense match, and even though the odds were stacked against me a bit we won 5-4. Had I waited in my humble engi slot on our team for a captain across to fill in, it would most likely have been a pubstomp.

After coming back from Berlin, I had the pleasure of crewing on Inkjets ship, together with two lovely new players, it was a genuine pleasure to fly on that ship. But, better yet, our enemies were great too! There was an assortment of older players, like Skrimskraw and Grey T, Melon, B'elanna, Heck even Coldcurse were there (In spectator I think?) and the lobby was a joy to fight in. We did lose though, but it was a bloody fantastic fight.

Put him on Hades for his first match and he loved it, second match main engineer and he done very good!

I played with AgentAze on her ship for her second game along with Demaster. Jawjee and Horatio Tibbs piloted the other two. She made a grevious error and renamed her ship as such in the next lobby where we decided Bubble Wrap should be in the game. Either as Wrap Mines, Wrap Ammo or as a pilot tool (You have freedom to choose, Muse). Then Horatio's ship filled with level 45 and as allies we decided to spend the next game pushing them around. Things went down hill from there and it was great GOIO.

I met Jaimee today, Spanish goldfish pilot at level 22, and not only was he a nice guy, but he played as well as a lot of level 45's I've crewed for! Great communications, plus he let me shoot stuff! Its nice to shoot things once in a while. :)

Yeah, shame I didn't mention that, but I got on a full-Rydr ship with Kamoba, Lydia and one person I don't remember. It was nice too.
We were in the Disneyland (I guess?) and I was listening to The Doors in the background.

One ship Ryder and disaster, one CsM ship and two ships of mixed high and low levels, mostly balanced until rematch shuffle, and the lobby was relatively silent too, not many mic spammers, so it was a good lobby. :)

Today I played with Waffleghost!
Normally as me and Waffle are pilots we end up side by side or against each other but today I got to be his gunner!
Found out for a long time he only recognised me by my ship name "Sky Slicer" which is pretty cool :)
And he was kind enough to let me shoot my two favourite guns!
Lumberjack on a spire in duel at dawn! Popping the balloons of two little fishies while chatting about stuff, a very nice match.
Triple Artemis Junker! Spanner Mallet buff on lower deck Artemis keeping an enemy jucker disabled while out all flame mobula toasted the enemy was very satisfying!
Though he should apologise less :)

Yesterday I played with Indreams or Replaceable or someone. I suck at remembering names in events. But I was friends with all of them.
Anyways I went Flamer Squid and he went Munker. We killed an enemy mobula together, the I basically hump-rammed the remaining enemy galleon.
You can see what's going to happen.
Ally shoots a barrage of mines suddenly, and 4 or so land right next to me and the galleon.
*bewm*
We both die.
I then precede to tar my ally to death as he mines me to death.

The engi (I was also engi but I didn't repair) was called mika..something it was their 6th match and they did excellently.

The most fun part though was definitely our last match, where we went double Banshee Mob and Rekt. I don't know how. Probably was just KirkLuckMagix.

I had one game with Pechka and Kubitsuri last night. We flew a sniper spire on Duel at Dawn. Kubitsuri kept us safe from close range attacks with a mine launcher and Pechka kept us in the skies with pure awsome. We managed to defeat Ayetach's carro/artemis Pyra 5-4 in one of the closest games I have played in a while.

2 days ago, to be percise. I noticed Tipz flying on a mobula with an empty Engineer spot. Naturally, I accepted and noted that the other engineer was called Andy.
After a few games, the whole crew decided to discuss this name which lead to me playing "you got a friend in me". :D

Today I had the pleasure of training some returning players who only just got started back two years ago, had some good times, taught one how to use mines, and the one who stood out a lady named Amelia (cant remember full IGN) who rocked the artemis while we chatted about our kids and found out she's in the same country as me! I also got to fly on Spoonninjas Junker twice, one round 5-1 the other round 6-0 to us. 8) we wanted to do 9-0 but Spoon felt too guilty :(
Then I flew with overlordegg, cadett Lola allwood and tfaltys, we took a mine squid, a damn shame I had to leave before the end of the match, we were winning 2-1 against gally and fish while our ally sat at the side with his flak fish watching us take the pair on...
Now back to life I go...

We had some great games, lots of victories, in about 4 hours, we only lost twice due to a lack of communication with teammates.
Despite those failures, we had lots of fun, we made a party and listened to music - Queen, Rick Astley, Survivor, Chariots of fire, Toy Story, Mulan, A-Team, Haddaway, Europe, Dream Theater, Enrigque Iglesias, Shai LeBeouf, Tiny Tim, William Tell, Postmodern Jukebox and a lot more

Played both with and against a variety of Cakes. They have both carried us and wrecked our shit. I may have played a closer game with a couple of them once or twice, but I tend to remember the extremes better.
If I remember correctly, it was a Cake spire that first introduced me to a Loch Typhon. I think I'll be forever scarred by that. I was a fresh-out-of-novice babbu, flying my lil' metamidion. It felt like taking a jackhammer to squash an aphid.

I do my best to listen and learn, and will often try to tease a plan out of the other captains before I begin barking my best ideas, that way I can compromise or give advice to some greener pilots/crews if they devise a less-than-stellar plan, or get critique on my own/start learning the two veg to go with the meat of this game from the vets I encounter.
Will look for you in the skies, brah, be it to engage in some sweet plays together or shoot you in the arse ;)

We took a blender fish and had much fun popping balloons, chasing down a bard squid and pondering why our ally capt rage quit while we were winning...
Then my son Robin attacked the laptop and closed the screen lol.
I returned to find out they "lost"... Newbies! ;)

Had a good time this morning with Grim and some others on a Kill Spire this morning.
We had 15 minutes to win and we were determined and mad.
We won with 3 minutes to spare.
Was a great time. T'is sad that I now have to work until 1 in order to play again...

Mighty Keb and Cadet Lola on a Gat Mine squid, keb on the mines.
It was brutally effective for its first outing, even considering our Gatling gunner seemed to struggle with breaking armour...
Keb said he's as good as Anakin on mines, I said not to go that far, but I will say Keb was brutally effective with the mines. :)
Same match final score 7-0 in a 2v2, we killed our ally with tar and mines, then our ally, Daring Do took us out with a brutal wall ram when we tried to tar mine him again.
So much fun :)
Our enemies confusion as the score count gave them 2kills while they were respawning was great

Good games and laughs all around with a balanced 3v3 against a squid squad, we almost lost but Kebs gunner dropped a mine behind him, and that was a turning point for a comeback finish to a great match!

Played an all squid 2v2 against MightyKeb and Kamoba tonight.
It was hella fun, even if I never use the damn thing. Might actually convince me to dust it off and get some real practice in.
Lost 3-5, but honestly, I feel good for putting up a fight. Thanks for the entertainment, gents!

Today for the first time, I played with HamsterIV!!
I was shockingly bad with the Heavy flak (apologies) but gave some good Mines to the enemy team! (I must be the only person who's better with mine launcher than heavy flak)
Loved Hamsters crew management. :)

It was a bad situation we were in. Heavy flack is one of the least used guns these days, so I am not offended by missed shots. I was encouraging you to shoot while their armor was up so you could get your eye in. You made several solid kills when it counted so I don't hold the shots you missed against you. I think we were destined to loose that match and was quite impressed by the fight we managed to put up.
Thanks for the compliment on my crew management, not everybody sees my "management style" in such a positive light.

Yesterday Sundstrom and I "tested" some new dual squid possibilities. It was one of the most exciting and rewarding flights I have had in Guns yet. It was also absolutely brutal. I've never seen squids get so many ram kills in a single game (we had six between the two of us- and even more using guns).

I played some matches with Huskarr, Hungoverengie, and Waterisme + the spooky "the lols" clan. Surprisingly many high lvl players in and at one point there were almost 6 ships with vets! Had many a varied matches and we only played CanBush like 7 times!
We also talked about tanks, more specifically tanks in ww1. Well most of us did, Rinntaq was talking about septic tanks and Megan Fox (two closely related themes considering both of them are full of shit).
Things were pretty cool and in general fun., and times were had.

Today I solo-queued into the lobby. Got dropped into lvl3 captain with one lvl35 engie crewmate. Since ally was higher lvl and had free spot, I switched and then the newbie captain said "Ohh, nobody wants me :<", so I thought: shit, this is a new player, I can take a quick vacation from being an asshole and try to help him. So I swapped back, gave him some advice, we even got a kill (playing against Mann and cake crew) but he left in the middle of the match.
