Title: Are you Muse-ical
Post by: Commodore Phoenix on July 15, 2013, 08:38:30 pm
Greeting's all Bards, Muses, Poets and Songwriters.

I have meant to do this for a while and here it is. My good friend Human-Duracell posted a video several weeks ago. This I believe is the founding of the Guns of Icarus Choral Society. I ask any and all who wish to offer there talents to join and to bring a fresh new vibe to the world of Guns of Icarus.

Obviously it will require some sorting out but feel free to post who you are and how we can contact you. Also feel free to post any and all songs you have floating around.

For anybody who wants to see Duracell's song it can be found here:

Weeeeeeeelll... I have no examples of me singing, but it shouldn't be hard to find an adapter to plug my fancy microphone into my computer to record something, should someone be interested ... Or I could use the built in mic but I don't know that thing's quality.

As for drums, those might be harder to rig but could be done if there was, again, an interest. Besides, I'm not sure you'd want Progressive Metal drums for a GoI song XD might sound cool though.

I'm looking for any kind of music so it doesn't matter so long as you want to do it.

I'm always open to sharing the music. Besides....

Me and my drums crave the blood of an innocent...

OK like I said no problem I was just looking for a general standard of playing so I could understand what you are capable of.

I can play most stuff that tuba normally plays in an orchestra.

I'm a jazz trumpeteer well ate least that is what I prefer to play. I make no profession of it as I'm still only in high-school. But I've had ridiculous amounts of practice and experience in my school's various bands. My school's maching band is one of the best in the state.

Nice and I'm not looking for professional if that's what you're worried about I'm just looking for guys who want to make music. Also what ever experience you can bring to the table will be great.

Alright, fair enough, sorry. Urm.. I've played the guitar for ages. Guess I potentially could be interested if you never find one of those (rather doubtful eh). Even though I've planned never to sing on the internet.

Well Spoon, I have need for as many people who want to be part of this. We can have several guitarists. Also you are more than likely going to sing.

Nice I think this is starting to get together and I think the first opportunity we can grab is the new VN project by qwerty and that lot. If we can all agree to do it I will ask them if they will let us do it.

if your from the midwest, does recording the audio of stabbing someone with a knife repeatedly count as an instrument?

Played electric/upright bass in the orchestra and jazz band up though graduating college.  Usually play metal on my fender, jazz/other on the upright and fretless electric. I dabble in guitar.

It does if you can hide it in a piece of music.

Excellent we are now getting quite a good range of instruments together.

Good news had a talk with Qwerty earlier today and he gave us the opportunity to put together a small sample for the VN project and he may allow us to do some music for it.

Sweet! How Do we go about doing it?
Title: Re: Are you Muse-ical
Post by: Commodore Phoenix on August 28, 2013, 12:24:49 pm
Well we have a month at least to get it done so we are going to have to start planning what we want it to be but Qwerty said we should take inspiration from here http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?feels%5B%5D=Relaxed&feels%5B%5D=Uplifting&Search=Search+by+Feel Eternal hope and Peaceful desolation are the ones he wants us to look at so I need to get some guys together to start to write some music after we decide what we are doing.

Something like that, eh? I could absolutely contribute any Snare, drum, or cymbal work you'd need.
