Title: FTL in GMOD!? Sign me up!

So, I saw this (http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/07/01/ftl-garrys-mod/) and instantly thought of the GoI community. I mean sure, you may be thinking FTL is a single player indie space game, where are the comparisons to GoI? Seriously though, if anyone has even a passing interest in FTL or team based crew games (and if you're here you must be interested in the latter at least right!?) then read that article. A multiplayer FTL inspired MP game where you take on the role of a crew member whilst trying to keep the ship alive? Sign me up!

I've thought before about how GoIO type gameplay could translate to a futuristic game... But came to the conclusion that it couldn't really work.
Yes, you could have several crew members responsible for different things, but they'd probably be stuck at a console most of the time pressing stuff. It would be rather too contrived if you had to run around to control different weapons, or repair something by hitting it...

I might be completely wrong but I think Star Wars Galaxies had something similar, where you could crew your friends ships or something. Don't know if it was anything like GoIO though.

I loved FTL... but I'm not sure how well it would translate into a FPS game... I guess I'll just have to keep my eye on it that mod, eh?

FTL + GOI + Minecraft + Eve would be the best game. Build your own ships, crew them with friends, and live in the EVE universe type thing, with all the politics.

Anyways may have to play this a lot.
