Title: Burning Skies Saloon Audio Book Discussion
Post by: Captain Lockheart on May 27, 2013, 04:46:34 pm
Good day!.

As you know, qwerty created 3 episodes of a audio-book for the Burning Skies. Me, Coldcurse and Captain Phoenix have been overseeing this in a group. We have come to a appropriate conclusion on how it will be formatted/ put together. Although one problem we have faced is in the voices of the characters ion our scripts. Therefore i have created this thread to ask for your help in what your characters voice should sound like, or indeed if you wish to voice your own character, or be a voice actor for other people. This will give us the information we need to get the ball rolling, and got these audio-books to you people!. So please place below what you wish your character to sound like eg: Gentlemanly voice, Harsh Gravely tone, Irish Accent etc.

Thank you for bearing with a bit of a wait.

Captain Lockheart

P.S Any Female Voice actors. Please contact us, we could use you :)

And i have just been notified that any scriptwriters are also welcome to join in. We will fill you in on how it is put together as the Thread itself is at this time 112 pages long with a lot of big parts in. This makes it a lengthy process for our currently (1) scriptwriter.

Thanks again :)

I don't think I'll be able to do my own voice, sorry. I'm not sure what I would want to sound like... Definitely not gentlemanly, that's for sure.

Still on the hunt for Scriptwriters!.

Also, i want to say that we cant have everyone voicing their own character too much organisation. W do have a few people who can do a plethora of voices.

Thanks again :)

Would having all the thread's text in a single text file be helpful? I could probably throw together a script to do that if it is. It's easy enough to add in who the poster was for each bit, but I'm not sure I can grab the text color for the 30 or so pages where that was the in thing to indicate who was speaking.

Quote from: Yiski

Zill = green
BdrLine = yellow
Shink = blue
Paradox = maroon
Roland = orange
Ny-Lee = teal
Jun'ko = pink

Also, there are color which can never be used because they're used to denote any number of random NPCs which will appear at any given point in time.

Hope this helps

No, but I'm often mistaken for him. Which is odd, since I'm not middle eastern and the closest I get to performing miracles is juggling.

I only do that on massive projects where there's an easy task or two I can pick out and hand over to you. This script is a small project, so I'm not even going to bother teaching you Selenium-Webdriver or ruby.

Perhaps you could give a few phrases and a way they are supposed to be said so I could demonstrate my awesomely broken pronunciation with a voice file?

Pfffffft.

Looks like Shink already did it anyway. Now I can drink more instead of coding things.

If it doesn't involve code, it isn't worth doing. That includes clicking on print.

But I have been known to do voices. Really odd ones usually. I DM for DMax and Surette.
Anyway yeah, if you think my *ahem* talents are applicable, PM me or whatever.

Still taking recruits!, just letting you all know.

And we will get fully back into work, once Coldcurse is 100% recovered and has some sanity to put to good uses rather than get Muse to change my name to Jon Snow...

Ill never forget...
