I believe that Muse should add something that makes it so that you CANNOT be a pilot while in the actual crew. Make it so that you can only choose the Pilot Class as the Commander of the ship. This would be nice because so many people like to stick as Pilots in my crew and they always get us killed...

That's some nonsense, and I hate when people do that. Then you get "high" level pilots who have no idea what they are doing.
To the OP's issue, I'm not sure if that is a beginner match thing, or if your ranks are wrong, then its usually a communication thing. Some people respond to team chat much better than voice chat. I still like the idea of locked crew roles so people can't join unless they accept the terms of that slot, but that's me.
