Flak's role in that game is a bit more akin to gatling/carronade's though

Flak breaks shields, flak breaks rooms, flak breaks hull. Flak is gatling, artemis, carronade, and flak. Flak is also even more fun with modded guns with 10 incendiary projectiles over a large area =D
