It looks like it could be a heavy fireball launcher.
Its not a heavy fireball launcher.
What it is isn't that great. (anyone around here who would put it in thier top 3 guns?)
I think it would be worth reinventing it.
Speculative properties:
-Medium long range
-High direct fire damage (400 takes out 1/2 a baloon or a squids armor but none other or a junkers hull but none other so maybe 200-300 per clip as a starter)
-Moderate ignition chance
-Maybe an arming time
-Slow arcing shots
-Several shots per clip (4-8), medium high rate of fire
-Reload longer than medium hull rebuild (so its difficult to use it for both armor and hull at once)
-Large area of effect or (if its even possible) flamethrower style particles that collectively follow the shape and trajectory of an expanding fireball
Any thoughts, refinements, seething hatred from rabid minotaur fans, plugs for the prometheus heavy flamer?

The "plugs for the prometheus heavy flamer?" being a joke that because this was a discussion of a heavy fire based weapon you would turn up and mention your idea (nice job on the rendering of it btw) at some point.

I don't think fire damage is the way to go. The description sounds like it would be a complement with the lumberjack and substitute for heavy flak. It sounds too similar to the hades and would be much more effective against hull than balloon.
I would put the Minotaur in the top 3 heavy guns on brawl galleon. Lesmok gat, heavy mino, burst hwatcha with carro hwatcha right. It's equally effective as pre nerf but harder to shoot. 2 shots break any component, but it's hurt by 9 second reload. I think reload should be 8 seconds like lumberjack.

- 'Sounds like its a heavy hades' isn't exactly a downside in my book
- The stats i put are speculative, i was envisioning a pressure weapon (enough to eventually get a kill with on a fish but made difficult by lack of gun or engine effect), as i described it i don't think it would replace flak too much (4+ shots that wont quite kill a junker will always lose out to 1 that kills almost anything for certain builds).
- It could have a second damage type added to push it in a particular direction
- The point about "top 3" being that as a novel and unique gun I'd think it would have some people who really like it if it fitted into the game well, but i haven't seen that

Sure people would want a heavy hades but there's already one and plenty of mortars. There aren't enough invisible slow push shotguns.
If it doesn't do enough fire damage against hull then it won't be effective against balloon. Double fire guns don't work as heavy weapons.

That's H.Carro/Hades and is useless if you can't destroy the armor in one go
And if you can, H.FLak

Fire damage is more effective against hull than balloon, and is reasonable against armor. Double fire doesn't work for heavy guns.
