Flying pipe wrenches? I dunno, just use an umbrella I guess.

Nah their heavy grade steel, something thicker then an umbrella.  Plywood shield might do it.

Well, getting on topic, it would need a crazy amount of crew members- the bigger the size means  bigger weight which means more balloons. More balloons are harder to repair, hence you need more crew. also, I imagine reloading is a two man job. Perhaps you could have 2 hull hardpoints that share a large permahull. That'd be a nice idea there. Then again, crew size.

Two crew per gun would be nifty, one to aim one to fire, somebody has to stay in the seat for it to reload.

Y'know, looking at those guns, I wouldn't be surprised if it could take out a Squid in one shot.
