these official?
-
yep
just released today
-
Loving the pseudo-venetian look from the Guild. My chosen faction just gets more pimptastic.
-
I'll stick with the furs and leather thank you, anyone know if the colors and symbols are still the same? like is the Empire still blue and white and the crane? Stuff like that

And I'm just sitting here going 'ooh, flaming stockings/absolute territory'
-
whats with the freaky proportions?
-
yeah, the heads look kinda tiny
-
Aaaaand giraffe necks.
But who really cares? I want these outfits. ALL OF THEM.
-
honestly, give them pointy ears and we got a bunch of elves
-
Loving that Yeshan Imperial East Asia look.
But can you believe that ridiculous Fjord Clown fashion? Eck! :P
-
That arashi female face thoh.. :P
-
Either that baronies lady has an unnaturally long neck, or that outfit really hurts. No wonder she looks so sad :P
-
Muse's artist seems to like that sort of stylized proportions. I kinda enjoy it, it gives a unique flavor to the art.
-
i was thinking the same thing its especially apparent on the republic folk
-
Odds on, if you strip off the Uniform they're all in proportion.
-
when do we get to see that? ;D
-

I hear that excuse to CLAMP and ZUN art fans.
You can spin it as much as you want but those proportions look off.
-
As it happens, I'm also a CLAMP fan. *Grin*
The proportions *are* off. However, they're consistently off, and the art is of the quality that it's almost certainly a stylistic choice. You can say it's one that doesn't appeal to you, and that's valid.
But there's a difference between not personally likely something and saying that it's bad.
-
Lets turn the conversion back to the outfits themselves shale we

True, true. Is it weird that the Arashi uniforms look too clean to me?

Needs more dust.
Can anyone explain who's who? I'm not up to date on lore besides my odd headcanon.

I THINK the first is Yesha, second is Arashi, third is Guild. Second row, first picture is probably Chaladon, second is Baronies, third is Anglea.
-
chaladons and yeshans look too similar.
chaladonian might benefit from some indian and arabic influences.
-
Chaladon and Yesha do indeed look similar, as they both look like separate areas of Asia.
I'm not gonna try and guess where for fear of being labelled a racist.
-
Your right, the top left is yesha and the bottom left is chaladon. Yesha is more Chinese while Chaladon is supposed to be more like India under colonial British rule
-
dose anyone eles find it odd that 5 out of 6 of them carry a weapon or ammo, even the Chaladon hippy's
-
uhh why would this be odd?
-
because to me these don't look like foot solders or 'sky sailors'. they look like people in high society people that are in charge of alot and don't go into battle anymore. Well maybe the league and the empire but the others don't fit
-
Decorative bullets and ceremonial swords.
-
sword i can believe but no one as ever worn bullies as decoration.
and if that is the case then that is pretty unsettling don't you think.
-
This is a post apocalyptic world. If your not armed your as good as dead.
-
Guns of Icarus.
Although I do see a discrepancy between number of guns and amount of ammo.
Which is to say, ammo everywhere but no visible guns. Perhaps they have guns in their pockets?
-
Example are the Angleans, looks like they could stuff a few pistols in those clothes.

i dont relly see that. its been so long seen the age of dust and the end of the world that life has settled down again.
like you know when your at like a football game on veterans day the survive members come out with the flags, imaging they were just covered in ammo.
-
Well, for weapons I see:
Yesha: Ammo belts. The male Yeshan looks like a soldier-he's wearing armor, and a full helmet with gas-mask. Multiple ammo belts, in that case, fit. The female is less heavily armored, and has less ammo-only two belts. Perhaps they're spent casing used as a sign of status? They could also be live, emergency rounds.
Arashi: They're a raider culture. I wouldn't be surprised if they all carried pistols, just as a sign of tradition, like Dune's Fremen with knives. The pistol in question looks like an old-flintlock, however, which is interesting.
Guild: A guildsman's weapon is his coin-purse, and the guy he just paid to fight you for him.
Chaladon: A ritual-looking dagger at the belt of the woman. Being based on Indian and South Asian cultures, I wouldn't be surprised if they carried cerimonial daggers for a number of reasons. Chaladon isn't pacifistic-they're isolationist. However, giving the appearance of the dagger, I'd assume it's more ceremonial, and likely not considered military, like a Kris, Jamyiad, or Balisong.
Baronies: Ceremonial dress swords. Fit the militaristic look, likely common among officers and noblemen. Not much more to say.
Anglea: Also carrying ammo-belts. The Angleas also look very fancy, and less military, aside from the beginning of a gas-mask suit on their chests. Honestly, I'd wager that ammo is extremely valuable in this world, as it's probably difficult to make.

Like military-quality bullets in Metro: Last Light?

I am digging the Angelean look except for the helmets. I know Vikings didn't put horns on their helmets but their helmets were pretty bulky. Real helmets were worn over things called "arming caps" which helped cushion blows and kept the raw metal from rubbing against skin or hair. Those head pieces look metallic and are directly touching the wearer's head. This would be unpleasant in a cold environment.
I like the suggestion of wings on the female helmet but would like it to be more pronounced.
Of the batch I like the Barony outfit the best. The ensemble has a clear martial purpose. The helmets especially offer both protection and indicate leadership. I am a big supporter of the "follow the man with the biggest hat," style of leadership.
Perhaps I will side with Angelea but take a Barrony helmet as a trophy, with or without the previous owner's head.
