And we're back for week 3 of Unbirthdays!
Points are taking a little longer this time around, but rest assured, they will be here shortly. Apologies to the teams of week 2.

Also: I'd like to reiterate, WE ARE STILL ACCEPTING NEW TEAMS!
That's right, even if you didn't fly in week 1 or 2, you can still sign up and join the shenanigans!

Purpose:
This is going to be a simple point gathering tournament, but with a few twists (as all good tournaments have):
Firstly, sign-ups are NON-exclusive and PER SHIP. This means that all you have to do to meet the requirements is get 3 friends who can compete with you!

Secondly, this will be a deathmatch-only tournament will have a 2 digit point system based on kills and wins. However, various multipliers (both above and below 1x) for builds and ships will be applied. Precise score multiplier values will be posted later. (Hint: Think ‘Cake,’ that is, minimum meta, maximum fire)

We are purposefully posting this announcement quite late. This is to give new players a chance to participate and stand a fighting chance. This is an extremely casual tournament, and we want to maximize the fun had by all. Seriously. Even the big clans. Go grab 3 buddies and sign up below! Don't even ask permission from your leader. Sign up for this stuff!

Dates:
This takes over 4 Saturdays starting on the 24th of January, 8pm UTC. You do not have to attend all 4 Saturdays.

Sign-ups:
All you need to do below is post a point of contact (in form of Steam profile), your 3 crew members you plan to bring along, and your team name. [NOTE: Your ship name MUST be the same as your team name. This is for scoring purposes.] We have open sign-ups up to a few hours before the event (Saturday, 12:00 GMT). You have to sign up every week you want to play, and signing up for one week does not make you signed up for each week after.

Pre-Lobby:
Because it’s a point gathering tournament, we will be seeding randomly week 1, and then seeding based on points after that.

In lobby:
We will be ‘draft picking.’ This is having one blue ship ready up and lock its loadout, having both red ships ready up and lock their loadouts, and then finally having the last blue ship ready up and lock its loadout.

Point maths inbound!

All math will be done by Cake. The basic concept is to try to go for the large addition multipliers while staying away from the large subtraction multipliers. Weigh your risk vs. reward and good luck!

Each Kill is worth 100 points.  If more than one multiplier applies, your base score (100 points) will be the number that is multiplied. For example, if you bring hades/flak/flamer front, mines outside Mobula, and kill a target with the flamethrower hitting it, you will get 100 + (100*.5) -(100*.25) = 125 points for that kill

Addition multipliers:
Kill with flamethrower hitting target:                 +0.5x points
Kill where last damage source came from mine: +0.5x points
Kill where last damage was CLEARLY a flare:      +2.0x points
Kill is “stolen” from you:                                 +50 points


Subtraction multipliers:
Gat/Mortar appears with overlapping arcs:                      -.5x points
Hades/Flak appears with overlapping arcs:                     -.25x points
No fire weapon involved in kill:                                     -.5x points


Each win is worth 300 points, and each loss is worth 100 points. If more than one multiplier applies, your base score (300/100) will be the number that is multiplied.
For example, if you win with an all-banshee squid, you will get 300 + (300*.1) + (300*.5) = 480 points plus your points per kill for that match.

Addition multipliers:
Ship composed of 100% fire weapons*:             +0.5x points
Gunner brings incendiary rounds:                      +0.1x points
ALL engineers bring incendiary rounds:               +0.2x points
No chem spray:                                              +1.0x points
Your fly a Spire:                                             +0.2x points
You fly a Squid:                                              +0.1x points
Birthday related items**:                                 +0.01x points per item

Subtraction multipliers:
Ship with no fire weapons/only fire weapon being a flaregun:-0.75x points
Ship with more fire weapons, but rarely used in combat:      -0.75x points
Pyramidion:                                                                   -.2x points
Blenderfish:                                                                   -.1x points

*Fire weapons are flamethrowers, banshees, hades, flare guns, and mine launchers. Regular weapons with incendiary rounds are NOT fire weapons.

**Birthday related items are the Birthday ship theme, party hat for 1 year anniversary, and party hat for 2 year anniversary.


Your total points for the day will be based on your points per kill added to your win/loss total.

Points will be carried over from week to week.



ALL MULTIPLIERS THAT ARE SUBJECTIVE (“stolen” kills, “rarely” used, etc.) are up to the referees and Cake as a whole.
Cake reserves the right to add/subtract points for good/bad behavior.

I was talking to Kirk earlier today, the final results were revealed in this beautiful video that Cake has been painstakingly editing for the past month. It's absolutely lovely, and I'm not sure why you all have seen it yet/ why it wasn't posted here sooner

So. All our files ever were lost to water damage. We weren't even sure who was in charge of the clan for a while.

However, some files were recovered, and I am happy to report...
