-gasp- Triforce.  I wish I piloted now; I'd have that on every ship.  I'd bet Welsh Zelda would too!

I haven't really had time yet, but I'm looking forward to making my own decals.

I am unsure if triforce is copyright material or not... If you don't call it a triforce....

Its in Samurai Warriors 2 as a flag option, so its probably fair game.. That said I am sure someone else can make a nicer version..

Mine is basically just three triangles, all one color.. with some spray painted white dots all over it..

Don't forget Lead Cubehead!

-snip-

Yes.. I haven't touch those yet, now I am interested haha..

I also did these..

My forum avatar to see what would happen:

and.. A crappy heart:

Do they have rules on what the decal can and can't be color wise.. or is just like has to be grey?.. I didn't try to do a colored one.. maybe I should just to see what happens..

Colors work in the workshop tool, but somewhere in the guides or whatever they posted it says it has to be monochrome (grey), 80% white.  No shading, all pixels have to be either fully opaque or fully transparent.

the thing is, no one's making money off that Triforce decal.  if they were, it may cause an issue.
the Triforce has come up in MW2 and such, too.
I've even seen the symbol crop up in anime that have nothing to do with LoZ.

I think it's fine.  it's an homage; we're not stealing their property and generating income out of it or anything.

LeMoon, that is amazing and I'm making sure he sees it.  I may consider moving the image a lil to the left so there's not a line down the right eye, but that depends upon how it appears on other ships too.

Just call it a Triangle.  Like this person did:

http://kandigear.com/index.php/triangle-kandi-cuff.html

I mean it's also basically the beginnings of a sierpinski gasket

(if you don't know what that is it's this)

Right oh... I totally knew that.. Anyways...

If you guys consider mine sufficient I can submit it but I still think someone who understands shading or something could make one that looks prettier..

The extent of my artistic knowledge.. is pretty limited..

I also tried to do like recolored sprites but they don't look right to me..

Want for my goldfish (also named Nietzsche's Stache)

Edit: I may have to figure out how to do this so I can make decals for all my philosopher ships...

I didn't make these images- I just edited them color wise/size wise a bit to make them workable.. I just was wondering what they may look like...

I actually tried a bunch of random things.. just to see but .. These three came out the most workable..

A more proper Zelda one:

A traditional medieval lion one.. Should of been smaller.. :

A wing:

I actually really like that wing..

I apparently love the spire balloon but that's only because I think its like the cleanest..

Almost thought that balloon actually had bullet holes in it.  :o

I myself might add up some form of decal within the coming days or so. This sort of stuff has been a hobby of mine, and this might be what I need to get that hobby back up and running. ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that last one is going to have some copyright issues.

I think a googly eye on the lower left corner looking to the left would make the ships seem more sentient.

just a lil fyi

the triforce and the swastika are not copyright.

nor is the swastika purely about the nazis. they did not think of that symbol out of nowhere.

It is a symbol from hinduism, ironically meaning purity and peace. And the triforce was the emblem for the shinsengumi (famous samurai enforcers in the edo era) if i recall.

.... I really hope you're not advocating for the use of swatstikas as a usable emblem.

i see no harm. As I see it. People are only offended, simply because they feel they have to.

Its not like the symbol killed your whole family or anything. The nazis did. I'm frankly more offended that such an inoffensive symbol became such a vision for hate.

though I'm more interested in the kanji Ai for my decal.
But iunno how to go about it.

Please stop. The fact of the matter is the symbol does represent hatred, and you don't get to tell people to simply "stop being offended" because you don't think people should be. "As you see it" does not matter, because you're not the one affected.

I'm Jewish. I take personal offense to the use of a swastika, as it has caused great pain to my family. Although my direct family (grandmother) survived, by fleeing to Russia, others in my family did not. Do not try to argue that it has a positive meaning, allowing it to be used. While it does, the German use of it with the twisted nazi ideology has led it to be a negative symbol, symbolizing racial intolerance, ethnic cleansing, and above all, a symbol of Jewish prosecution and hate. Just don't use it. Ever. It is a symbol which should be taboo.

But in Japan, where Zelda was created, things are a little different. The Triforce has a little more meaning. As anyone who has played a game of Shogun Total War (or its recent sequel) will know, there's a clan in the game called the Hojo. And the Hojo's family crest (or kamon, 家紋, in Japanese) is essentially a Triforce.

The Hojo name for it, though, was Mitsuuroko 三つ鱗), or "three scales".

So there. Call it Hojo, mitsuuroko or the three scales.
