Title: Bug Or Feature?
Post by: Spud Nick on August 23, 2014, 10:15:54 am
-Chem spray will stay active on a component even after that component is broken.

-Shatter damage is transferred to the hull once all components are broken.  (guns and engines)

Are these bugs are features?

It's meant to work like that, as for the chem-spray I'm unsure if its a bug.

Tar barrel and sand storms can strip hull armor because of how the damage is transferred. This seems a little out of place but maybe not game breaking.

All damage types transfer to the hull (armor) once you destroy the component, even the chance to set fire, if I am not mistaken.

Chem spray should stay active on component even when they are broken. Helps with dealing fire: "Repair now or is there enough time to repair it later without dying first?"

Actually, if we remove transferring flechette/shatter damage to hull, it might be interesting rebalance. + survivability of ships /  - carronade imbalance

It would not make sense for the chem to vanish on break. We are not firing squeegee ammo here.

*makes note to suggest squeegee ammo for removing chem spray

Aqua ammo: Wipes away any chemspray, but also puts out any fires.

It is silly. Fire-resistant compounds are usually not aqua-soluable.

Of course not. That would be silly. The ammo I was talking about would fire actual squeegees. The big guns would fire entire window cleaning crews.

Don't worry, I wasn't being serious ;)

Chem persisting through rebuild is fantastic.

Are you saying hull or hullarmor? Cuz I'll totally try to break every component with my carro and keep shooting em if I can circumvent armor that way.

Roombas? Sounds like what the hwacha would fire. Would the heavy flak shoot consuela teams, whose counter would be the engineer tool "rag of chloroform"?
