A cloaked man has taken now vows of allegiance here, but serves only by their own will, on their own time, by their own choosing. The Black Cloaks are no guild or clan. The Black Cloaks are a mercenary team, made up from free contractors, members of any and all clans, and ruled simultaneously by democracy and chaos.
I am looking to start a structure within the competitive scene which draws in players for no other reason than to play the game and win glory in tournaments. The choices are made by it's members and elected leaders. Beyond that, players are free to do what they wish. There is no need to remain tied to the organization in any way. There are no clan tags, no feuds with other groups, no preference for any clan. The group exists only to have fun in tournaments, with players who may otherwise not be able to build a team or join their clan's official team.
The Black Cloaks have little in the way of structure, but what I imagine is outlined here. A two leader system would apply only to specific tournaments, with commanders sharing equal power, and voted upon by all players wishing to play for the Black Cloaks in a specific event or tournament. Each signed up player gets two votes, which must be for separate players. These two elected commanders select the final rosters for that event only. They have complete autonomy over the event they are elected for, and may choose to not put themselves on the roster. Irreconcilable differences will be voted upon by the complete list of players signed up for the given event.
In each event we are unique. If there is no glory to be won, we cease to exist. If we collapse in on ourselves, so be it. If we change in form or nature or rule, it is up to the players to decide.
This is not a recruitment thread, for no members are permanent. I am only here to measure interest in the idea. What we do with it is really up to everyone. So... who wants to take the skies one night and disappear the next?

How about we start out small? We need 4 players minimum to sign up up to fly a Black Cloaks ship. Sign ups for it end June 29 so lets say you have until Thursday to join the Black Cloaks on this event and we'll then hold elections on Friday. Consider this a test run.
I pledge for the Black Cloaks in the July 6th Squid Races.
Preferred position, pilot.
Other positions, engineer.
I wish to be considered for command in the elections. I know more than most about how to fly a squid through a demanding course.

Ok so thursday we elect the Leader of the group for this event to lead us, then they pick roles and loadouts? i like this system. just so everyone understands if we want to be in contention for the leadership state before thursday?

That is correct. I was suggesting two leaders, but that might be a bit much for squid races with only 4 people needed. Leaders can micro-manage as much as they want or leave it up the the crews and pilots they select (including themselves) to handle it. They get final say though, whether or not they choose to use that power.

Okay, elections are today. You get two votes that must be for different players and you can vote for yourself. Votes re public currently because I can't think of a better way to do it right now. You can vote for any signed up player, although they can refuse the position. If you only vote for one player your other vote goes away.

I would be a horrible boss, Tea Breaks with biscuits every quarter hour. Pub at lunch for a few pints, Afternoon Nap then wake up another cuppa, Home time SORTED! haha :)

I would like to get together a team of 4 for the Timmy B memorial tournament. Although I did not know him, I would still like to pay him our respects. From all I've heard, he seemed to be an amazing friend and player.

Other thread for Sunday Skirmishes. Sorry I haven't been around to organize those too much. Been a busier couple of weeks than I anticipated and I haven't been as effective at gathering mercs from other teams as I could be (mostly because of the busyness).
