Title: Need to see all game manuals while in game
Post by: ramjamslam on February 10, 2014, 08:12:47 am
When you hit the game manual button in the lobby (picture of a book) it shows you a list of manuals which include: 'Game Manual', 'Wilsons Notes' (1 and 2), 'Lusse's Travels' and 'Evadne's Reports'.  When you hit escape and then the game manual button whilst in a game it only shows you the 'game manual' portion, not the list of all manuals and not things like 'Wilsons Notes' which could be very helpful.  I find that people tend to have a lot of debates over different guns effectiveness which would be solved easier by being able to view Wilson's Notes while in a match.

Here is the screen I want to see when I hit the book button in a match:

I support this.

I wouldn't say having them all available is extremely helpful, as you're usually busy with other things in a match, but it can be useful on occasion. At least just as much as the in game manual.

I would rather have the full manual immedatly then to unlock things by achievements.

RE: unlocking

we're looking into making more of those manuals unlocked faster.

RE: Manuals everywhere

That's a big UI request there.  From my point of view, if you're in a match (on a ship is what you mean, right?) then I don't want you to look at a manual and debate.  I want you to play.  However, we'll take it into consideration at least on the game manual end and see where we get.  It's going to be a tough one, though.

Well, looking up a gun's specific range and/or arming time in-game is a lot more practical/useful than looking at the default manual in-game.
