Title: Indoor maps
Post by: Wundsalz on January 20, 2014, 01:54:37 am
Maybe a cave system? - a giant mine in the red canyons?
Or maybe an abandoned industrial Area with a giant hangar? - Those fat leviathan wrecks we can see on the desert maps have to come from somewhere after all.
Anyway, I'd love to see a map where we don't have to bear that nasty (artificial) sunlight and where structure to crash ships is all around us (including the skies ceilings)!

A cave system map may actually be pretty interesting. It would certainly encourage close range play as well.

That's remind me... there was a good indoors map in old game: Flying Heroes... and there was an airship to... along with flying teapot.

Muse could try to make a cave system.

by the way this would support helium ramming.

Sewer level. Paritus must have had pretty big sewers, right?

what about a sky-whale den? (they do build dens for reproduction purposes, don't they?)

Whales don't lay eggs...

Yes, I'd love it. A map that would be mostly for close range would be something new. I am glad to see that people come up with ideas not with complaints.

Of course they do. Sky Whales are sensitive animals, and not the type to just get it on in the middle of the sky where every one can watch.

I would go with a salt mine map in this case.

I would rather see a coppermine.

Copper mines are not noted for their massive tunnels like salt mines. But hey, reality has no place here. Let's dig too deep! :D

Canyon ambush with a ceiling and dead ends basically.

Also, a 4v4 version with extra paths open up to a multi-layer system. Every ship spawns at a different height initially, so making your way to your allies is fraught with peril as you navigate the system hoping the next ship you see is an ally, not an enemy. Vertical holes where you might see part of an enemy ship slip by, with some holes large enough to rise through. Some paths that curve about allowing you access between levels.

Maybe I just want a giant cave system to explore (at max speed of course). I've found some crazy spots in maps, but something like this would offer whole new opportunities.

Maybe make the caves an actual hideout base for bandits or something and make fake walls. There are already objects with no collision, so you can fly through them (like CP balloons). Make some routes that look like dead ends but actually open up into other caverns so you can lay even better ambushes.

Then stick a CP balloon on the map and have it fly a path through the caves and call it king of the convoy, like a moving capture point. (shameless self promotion there)
